What are the chances of equipping Pakistani F-16 with Turkish SOM-B2

. .
Its commonsense and logic sir, US wont allow to integrate any foreign weapon system to our F-16 @war&peace
It is "common nonsense" to talk without any source. There are a lot more senior members than you and many have sources but still they have not said anything categorically so how can you be so sure..source please?

Ok. Then why didn't we integerated RA'AD??

The words of a professional.

No tinkering with US supplied equipment without American approval, applies to all countries using US equipment. If US does not permit, we cannot do flight trials without weapon ballistics data. If we do it by hit and trial, we could cause an aircraft crash, resulting in a great credibility loss to the manufacturer. In short no tinkering can be done with ANY system of US origin aircraft. This is especially true of aircraft which are operational in US inventory.

In Turkey's case, it is a NATO member and has certain privileges that we do not have.

If we try something clandestinely, and are caught, it could mean an immediate stoppage of spares support and the fleet would be grounded.

Yeah but if Turkey has already integrated it on its block 40 F16 C/D then we don't need to do any hit & error trials.

We cannot do anything in hiding whilst involving Turkish.

Remember, the 2016 coup in Turkey was lead by Turkish Chief of Air Staff. More than 200 officers of TuAF were sacked over the next few weeks. This also created an acute shortage of F-16 instructor pilots in TuAF and Pakistani's had to support them along with some other NATO Air Forces.

So Uncle Sam would definitely get to know if we do something with the Turkish.

What an irrelevant crap...

My friend the results of a discussion carry no value to me I will restrict the F-16 capability as defined by PAF so F-16 of Pakistan are non nuclear.

I understand what you are trying to say but the ground realities are that Pakistan has and will do whatever is deemed necessary with the use of F-16s WITHOUT seeking US permission specially for the A and B types. I can understand US contractual strings attached with the F-16 C/Ds but A/Bs are a different ball game since a lot of these were purchased from 3rd countries without the harsh contractual strings attached.

TUSAS is licensed to work on F-16s by US, and likely when they release their version of the F-16V upgrade PAF will contract for it.

For SOM however there is no need for PAF as we already have alternatives on JF-17 and Mirage. RAAD wont have the export range restriction.

SOM range: 250km
RAAD range: 350km
RAAD 2 range: ?

Infact if it werent for export missile range restrictions by the specs it should be the other way around, would Turkey be interested in equipping its air force with RAAD.
