The whale shark that was found dead in Karachi last year will be put on display in Islamabad this February.
This was said by Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) Director Dr Muhammad Rafique in an interview with the APP.
The four-month-long tanning process is almost over, he said. The museum is currently looking for someone to fund the cost of the display, about Rs0.7 million.
The whale shark is the largest species of fish that still exists.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature has put the status of the whale shark as vulnerable, meaning that the species is at risk of extinction unless measures are taken to end the factors threatening its survival.
