Weapons of Mass Destruction

US soldiers wear chemical warfare gear during a joint military exercise with South Korea at a US Army base in Dongducheon, 40kms north of Seoul, on March 3, 2011 aimed to simulate the detection and disposal of North Korea's chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons.

US and South Korean soldiers displayed their techniques for handling weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in the face of North Korea's nuclear sabre-rattling.

Nice pics. Anyone who has been in the military understands how horrible this (chem warfare) would be. A soldier deserves better than being knocked to the ground, foaming at the mouth, by a drop of oily liquid on the skin. Sprayed with human "Raid" like an insect.

So horrible, that even Hitler's Germany, when Berlin was in flames, did not unleash chemicals. May we never see it happen.

Agreed with Chogy. War is enough till extend of Air strikes, explosions and stuff. But this biological and chemical weapons MUST be taken care of, and let them never rise. They are one of the bitterest death, as I can imagine. How would like a drop of sulphuric acid on your skin, burning away and itchy?
If someone here has been in chemistry lab, he will understand.

I don't get this. A weapon is a weapon. It is supposed to kill, quickly and be effective on a large scale. That's why it's called a 'weapon of mass destruction' isn't it?

I'd rather try and find ways to avoid use of weapons and war in the first place.

I can't disagree, but as humans, we still at least try to maintain some dignity and rules in warfare. I don't see how we can internationally outlaw hollow point bullets for battle, yet allow VX nerve agents. Yes I believe there are good and bad ways to die. If it's my time to go, I'd rather take a bullet, get shot down, or blown up (even with a nuke) than get crop-dusted with an oily liquid that drops every vertebrate creature it touches in moments.
