Without getting into the politics, for a while there, you were not allowed to do certain "planning" that would have got a few of those buggers, even with an F6. However, that all changed soon and happened to coincide with the presence of the F16.

Some nitpiks...

F-86F had 6 browning 0.5Cal machine guns not 20 mm cannons. Canadair F-86E that we got via Iran may have had a different gun config. F-6 had 2x30mm and 1x37mm (centerline). It only carried 150 rounds for each 30mm cannon and only 70 rounds of 37mm. But 1 round from that 37mm would destroy an aircraft.

BTW Irfan Masum wrote off a FedEx Grand Caravan @ KHI while landing. It skidded off and the rugged under carriage collapsed
