Volkswagen, reeling from an expanding scandal involving diesel cars it has admitted it rigged to pass U.S. pollution tests, announced Monday that owners of the vehicles will receive $1,000 in what the company calls a “goodwill” gesture.

They always made crap cars. surprised?
Would never touch any german over engineered and expensive maintenance junk? After 3 years your electricals go and you can never fix them. if you survive 3 years, then you are fine.

Japanese cars are worth the money. But i always wanted to buy a German machine.

Btw i think this thread is posted in the wrong section.
I'm sure mods can move it to a more appropriate section. :)

friend
we make german cars here. my home town has more per capita BMWs than major north american or asian cities.

Terrible .... they work fine for 3 years and you are perpetually plagued with electrical problems. My bil has VW Kombi. We went on a long drive towards north of botwana. On the first road, a light came on ... never ever seen it; I checked in the manual - it was 400 pages... No joke... we had to work through via flow chart to figure out ... Cause loose plugs... really.. Here we were 500km from nearest human outpost.

Sorry, i have had a german car and i took it to a scrap yard never to be touched again.

I love my Toyotas ever since. 25yrs and never been let down single time.

I am satisfied with my Phaeton but I really hate their lies and I want to sell it and buy something better
