Visual differentiation of Al Khalid varients?

Hi

Al Khalid project of Pakistan is among those projects about which no sharp information is available about its production and improvements with time.................. On google we find different pics which show significant improvement of old model into new models. It is said that so far 470 Al Khalids are produced. The target is to produce 600 Al Khalids by 2017 ............... and the existing fleet of Al Khalid was upgraded to Al Khalid 1 standard........ and Al Khalid 2 is in development phase which will be revealed once Al Khalid 1 production target is achieved............... I am sharing few pics of Al Khalid from different time line............ and want you to differentiate AK1 from AK .............. also we see some AK with Varta APS, while other with ERA plates........ does the presence and absence of APS is criteria to differentiate AK1 from AK .................? plz mention the names of each variant pic by pic

Left one seems to have (composite?) applique on the glacis, rather than era tiles apparently on the right (note 'screws') .

Appears to have APS (or at least laser detector) on the left and right of the bustle (seen below to the right of the pole-sensor on the bustle). May be the same are above main gun of the right tank above. Bins above the track are different from first pic, where they remind me of the Type 85-III.

The difference (visual) is -- absence of ERA Plates... Varta 1 APS & relocation of smoke grenade launchers...


The real upgrade is inside -- the systems,ammo capacity etc..

Maybe both are Al-Khalid-1..... Cause we already have 400+ Al-Khalid tanks which will be upgraded to Al-Khalid 1 Variant and as Desert Fighter said the real upgrade is inside system capacity ammo etc etc and Later these will be upgraded to Al-Khalid II variant

Ammo storage capacity... Increased rate of fire... Upgrade to imagery systems,Varta APS etc..
