Villagers elect beggar as Gram Pradhan​

Fed up with tall promises made by political parties and local leaders, residents of Sahawar Shah village have made an unusual choice by electing a beggar as their village head.

A total of eight candidates were in the fray but villagers chose 70-year-old Narayan Nat, who has been making both end meet by begging for the past 40 years, locals said.

Nat said he never dreamt of this but the villagers exuded confidence in him. Even after winning the elections last month, Nat, a father of four sons and 14 grandsons, is still seen begging.

"I will continue with begging and use all the money released by the government for the development of my village," Nat said, adding that his priority will be to construct toilets for ladies in the village.

Nat, who did not spend a single rupee in the election, claims that he would try to change face of the village.

these guyz though may be very poor in administration can be proven very handful when it comes to money management. They know the value of rupees and after begging for 40 years and working with the most deprived part of the community would like to do something for its own community as well as the villagers.

Seriously happy to see him becoming a leader... it may sound bit funny but if he has little education - he would prove to be a better leader than the corrupt politicians we have in India / Pakistan
