What's new

Video Gamers report in!

This new chinese video game is looking very cool, set in Northern Song dynasty: WHERE WIND MEETS.
Look like some sort of Sekiro + AssCreed in a chinese setting.

And Sony announces a new controller, finally with REPLACEABLE ANALOG STICKS.

More cool video games from Gamescom:
Wanted: Dead
Lies of P
Atomic Heart

New WO LONG trailer!

Goddamn it seems Koei Tecmo just wins in the competition in making chinese history game again! Now this is my most hyped game, unessl From announces the new Armored Core/Sekiro!

Cool video games arrive one after another!
ARMED FANTASIA: Spiritual succession of Wild Arms is coming back as a Kickstarter Project.
It's already looking nice, and on PC to boot!

PENNY BLOOD: the new Shadow Heart successor, already looking good!
Ring of Judgement is my favorite turn-based combat system, such responsive combination between real time and turn-based battle.

This might be the first Kickstarter I back.

AMD 7 series is out

hmm

anyone plan to build one from it ? .. still on 3 series here, as a middle of the road "gamer", no complaints so far, but some people must have the latest greatest all the time.

I have been waiting for AMD support of USB4( which is basically thunderbolt 3 ) support - so i will finally replace a 2009 build with Q9550/8gb/2560ssd build with an AMD rig with Ryzen 7000. I want the USB4 so that i can use 1 monitor with a USB hub so i can swap out work laptop, personal laptops and main computer by basically swapping out 1 USB-C cable via a Thunderbolt 3 hub.

Shame the TDP has gone from 65W to 105W though ! :(

I am not really a gamer anymore - so i am looking for a generic fast computer - AMD 7000 - 6 core - 16gb ram with 256 NVMe PCIe 4.0 will do the job - i will reuse a 960GTX graphics card/psu/case (Coolermaster 832)/Optical and HDD drivers aswell.

Steelrising
It's releasing this week, after 6 months of ER, I do want to try a new Soulsbourne now and this one looks OK, I guess.

Get a Ryzen 5 5600 like I did.
It's the best option right now, put the rest money into a good GPU instead.

I'm playing Steelrising right now and it's super, super janky.
Anyone who wants a good Souls clone might want to sit it out, or wait for a sale if you are really interested in robot and French revolution history.

Apparently freaking EA is teaming up with Koei Tecmo's Omega force to make a new "hunting game" set in medieval Japan:

It sounds interesting, I assume by "hunting game", they mean Monster Hunter-ish.

Anyone watch yesterday's Nintendo Direct and Sony State of Play? Many new games were announced.
Tekken 8 by Bandai Namco

Yakuza Isshin remake by SEGA: covering the Meiji Restoration era.

Mech game with cute girl by Bandai Namco

Stellar Blade, former Project EVE, by Korean dev SHIFT UP

Rise of Ronin, new samurai game by Team Ninja/KOEI Tecmo, also covering the Meiji Restoration era.

Damn, 2023/2024 already look busy for video game players.

Two more Yakuza/RGG games:
Like a Dragon Gaiden.
Yakuza 8:

And jesus christ, a Dragon Quest about Dai's great adventure (Dấu Ấn Rồng Thiêng), nostalgia overload, I love the manga as a kid:
