A reading of Indian vegetarianism as a form of food fascism that is taking hold on people and causing violent killings, and casteim as a blood thirsty vegetarian knife.

Indian vegetarianism is correlated with untouchabililty which has become even more powerful as a tool for keeping the caste system intact. Purity of food, elitism and contempt for the food of other fellow men make up the essential part of Indian vegetarianism. This is not in sync with the veganism of the west which is based on empathy for animals and personalized food preferences. Vegetarianism here has nothing to do with the love for animals either. It is a practise of elitism against the so called low level people, and dalits. It is hatred toward people and love for no animal.

Quite recently the menu has become the extension of hatred sheathed in a socially acceptable form. Our market is filled with Brahmin Sambar Power, Namboothiri Dantha Choornam, Ayyar Cafes and the like to make use of the superiority complex of the upper caste and the fans of their ideology.

The veganism of the West is not intolerant of food that is prepared from the same kitchen, there is no food untouchability until it is served on your table.

Local advertisement boards that read ‘house to let only for vegetarians’ is a euphemism for banning Muslims and dalits from their elite and self proclaimed locations. With this kind of tricks they can keep the untouchables away from their vicinity. As the expression says, money cannot buy everything, and if you are a dalit or muslim or a person from an undesirable sector of the population, your money alone won’t buy you a house or a house plot of your desire. You need to have the inherent qualification of being born into a particular community. Can we find find this alienation in any other countries save India?

This hatred is even more evident when a place is dominated by upper class Hindus. Using this pretention they avoid the people they want to so successfully that even a case of caste discrimination cannot be implicated.

The phrase non-vegetarian itself is the contribution of Indian brahmanical thinking. It is remarkable that in a country where only 29 per cent of the population is vegetarian, the phrase non-vegetarian is a mark of contempt and not love. It promotes the idea that YOU are the bad people and we the good.

States with more vegetarians are more likely to be caste intolerant
Pure Veg is another phrase that is coined on religious lines, however in effect it is an expression of xenophobia, it is food fascism, which took several lives of dalits and Muslims in this country who happened to trade or sell or eat beef. A spoon or a vessel that happened to be in touch with a non-veg food is a taboo, and this happens in India only.

Food in Hindu Scripts – Sattvik Vs Tamsik Diet or Good and “Dark” Food

A Sattvic diet is a diet based on foods in ayurvedic and yogic literature that contain the quality (guna) sattva. In this system of dietary classification, foods that decrease the energy of the body are considered tamasic (dark), while those that increase the energy of the body are considered rajasic.

A sattvic diet is meant to include foods and eating habits that are “pure, essential, natural, vital, energy-containing, clean, conscious, true, honest, wise”. A sattvic diet is claimed to instil and exemplify Ahimsa, the practice of non-violence, or not causing harm to other living things, which is one reason that yogis often follow a vegetarian diet.

A sattvic diet is a regimen that places emphasis on seasonal foods, fruits, dairy products if the cow is fed and milked in the right conditions, nuts, seeds, oils, ripe vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and no to meat.

A sattvic diet is sometimes referred to as a yogic diet in modern literature. In ancient and medieval era Yoga literature, the concept discussed is Mitahara, which literally means “moderation in eating”.

Consumption of meat caused the development of brains of our evolutionary ancestors. Early human species found that fire could be used cook food in general, not meat alone. And they could now depend on tubers, meats, pulses so that they could cook them and make them easy to consume. This triggered the expansion of the human brain and its cognitive capabilities. In the light of scientific studies, the concepts of Sattivic and tamsic diets are wrong concepts developed by people who had no idea of human evolution.
