New Delhi :-
On Monday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) firebrand leader Praveen Togadia raised another controversy after saying that use of word Allah during yoga is insulting to Hindus.

This comes at a time when no prominent Muslim organisation has propagated the theory.

"The use of word Allah during yoga would be an insult to Lord Shiva. The utterance of words 'Om' and the practice of surya namaskar are integral to yoga and hold supreme importance. Those who are allergic to 'Om' and surya namaskar should live with diseases," he said in Bulandshahr on Sunday.

Togadia also accused the Union government of not taking “stern action” against pro-Pakistani separatists, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Pravin Togadia today said those who hoist Pakistani flags in Kashmir must be “shot”.

“The way Pakistani flags are being hoisted in Kashmir is a matter of concern and now it is necessary to shoot people in their chest if they shout slogans in favour of Pakistan and hoist Pakistani flags,” Togadia told reporters in Kutch district.

While answering a query about the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Togadia also criticised the BJP-led central government and alleged it has not been taking “sufficient” action to rein in separatists.

“The Union government has not taken stern action against pro-Pakistani separatists and so they are getting emboldened day by day,” Togadia said.

He was answering a query about the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir, where a seminar organised by the Hurriyat Conference was stalled by the state government for alleged anti-India activities.

Several top leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani have been placed under house arrest.

Yoga is used by many people as form of meditation and not religious service. The Yoga centers in North America and Europe should post a sign as propagated by the Hinduvta and the attendance will drop by 90%.

Hidden Storm on its way to Maturity.....first they assume throne of India under Modi, now these fledgling birds have high overflowing expectations.... Equilibrium of Society will soon take new shift

Not more then handful of hindus takes this man seriously,

I don't get it... Yoga is an exercise, get rid of any religious references and Allah, Ram, God, Jesus, all will be happy with it, after all, it's good for health.

I don't mind if some Muslim is doing Yoga and chanting Allah. But according to Yoga one should say Om as it has some spiritual use which is important in Yoga, which one might not get otherwise.

'Ooooooo' would do just fine for Muslims....... I do Yoga and not say OM...... so what's up with the semantics?

You can speak whatever but then what is the purpose of you doing Yoga if you don't want to do it properly. It doesn't benefit :)

"Om is an intonation, a sound resonating throughout the body and into the soul. It signifies god, higher power and the oneness of all beings in life's cycle"

^ has monotheistic (and sufi) elements in it. Using language to create differences is an illusion. But yes, yoga has nothing to do with dogma so this is just pointless.

There is a traditional Sufi story about four travellers—a Persian, a Turk, an Arab, and a Greek, arguing as to how they should spend a single coin they possessed. The Persian suggested buying angur, the Turk wanted uzum, the Arab wanted inab, while the Greek suggested buying stafil. Another traveller, who was a linguist, asked them to give him the coin and promised to satisfy the desires of all of them. When he was given the coin, he bought grapes and gave them, seeing which the Persian recognized them to be his angur, the Turk his uzum, the Arab his inab and the Greek said that in his language they were called stafil. "The travellers are the ordinary people of the world. The linguist is the Sufi. People know that they want something, because there is an inner need existing in them. They may give it different names, but it is the same thing. Those who call it religion have different names for it, and even different ideas as to what it might be," explained a Sufi teacher (The Sufis by Idries Shah, p. 24).

Then stop using the word "ALLAH " in your Bollywood movie songs ... its insulting in our religion the word of GOD is not to be used in songs why do you do that ?
