USA wants report on Sri Lanka from India

The US State Department had called for a special report from India as to how politics in Sri Lanka would affect the region, informed sources revealed yesterday.

The US government has sought views of the Indian government on the issues relating to the post war activities, foreign relations of Sri Lanka and Constitutional Amendment and on several spheres.

Sources also said that the State Department had sought this report from India three days ago and it was reported that the Indian government was already preparing the report.

Correction...we don't have Non-state actors or elements in India.

US probably wants a first hand account of the alleged atrocities committed in the last stages of the battle.

Sri Lanka’s friends China, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea & ASEAN Countries until now ignored any kind request from USA regarding Sri Lanka

India did a wrong thing, Sri Lanka wont TRUST India in any kind of issues in the future

China should use its leverage and get involved here. Despite enough issues on the table, Pakistani government should also voice strong disapproval over this report

What do you mean by "India's duty"?

If you mean the people of India then count me out buddy...I am no religious zealot to be supporting religion nor would I vote for anybody who says that. Sri Lanka should do what is best in its interest, but comparing Indo-Sri Lankan relationships akin with that of Pakistan is absurd.

The Tamil problem effects both India and Sri Lanka, I do not know any Tamils is Pakistan or China, so Indian response would be different.

What does LTTE have to do with Hindu rights? :O Tamil rights is more apt word. Yeah, as Tamils constitute a part of population, it's India's duty to support Tamil's right, which is what being done now. And Sri Lanka should co-operate keeping in mind India's help to exterminate LTTE.
