Foreign countries undermining US efforts in Afghanistan

Iran's Bottom Line in Afghanistan
BY ALEX VATANKA
Read the Publication (PDF)

Due to proximity and historical ties, no other country is as well placed as Iran to play a dominant role in Afghan society, as Middle East Institute senior fellow Alex Vatanka shows in his new paper, "Iran's Bottom Line in Afghanistan."

However, Tehran is focused on short-term tactical gains at the expense of a sustainable, holistic strategy, reflected in its use of Shia Afghans as a proxy elsewhere in the region, and it is generating concern in Kabul about rising sectarian tensions in Afghanistan.

Obviously Iran believes that Taliban of Afghanistan has differences from groups like TTP that have made problems in Pakistan and did many terror attacks. Iran considers , a new emerging intention, Afghani Taliban as a force that can fight against foreign invaders and eventually liberates Afghanistan from US occupation.

Russia on the other hand, along with Iran's new emerging attitudes about Afghani Taliban, threatened US with similar intentions. Putin's threat :

However Russian announcement was an open threat and it wasn't an empty threat.

If you don't quote me next time, i will cry like a baby!!!!!!!!
With pleasure :enjoy:

The first source, Atlantic , says that Iran is using Shias as proxy, it is a western crap about Iran. Iran is fighting against USA's regional influence and helping Taliban to fight against American occupation/colonialism , doesn't mean that Iran wants to use Shias as proxy.

Moreover Taliban will fight ISIS too. And it's the main reason of arming them.
@Path-Finder What is your idea? Afghanis need help to fight ISIS that is being transferred into AFG by American/NATO cargo planes.

My assessment(which can be 100% wrong:D) is the US needs to leave but they MUST stay. ISIS in afghanistan has been propelled forward at great speed. From my understanding it seems like the old foes in afghanistan are now beginning to put aside their differences.

Pashtun who are historically closer to Pakistan and the Farsi speaking Tajik, Uzbek and Hazara are closer to Iran. I noticed a while ago that Taliban are now in areas that are predominantly Farsi speaking areas. With the recent debauched attempt by the US where they dropped blasphemous leaflets which had Tajik followers of the Lion Of Panjshir protesting against it.

Farsi speaking afghans and Pashtuns are coming together and that is huge. A major setback for occupying forces.

ISIS were dropped on Pakistan's border via helicopters to the present fighters from Levant are arriving in afghanistan.

Divide and conquer works everywhere else in the world except afghanistan as it appears :sarcastic:. The fact is the old foes are coming together Iran, Pakistan and Russia of which Pakistan was openly targeted for supporting Taliban but Iran and Russia as well :astagh:

That's all I got for now :enjoy:

How does 'Iran's bottom line' translates to Pakistani influence in Afghanistan?

Now these present day Afghan Talibans, who grow weapons and opium side by side in farms, have no business with once Taliban regime, which was bombed into oblivion with B52s because they refused to bow down to the alliance of US and Iranian puppet Northern Alliance.

Just stop selling your BS.

Unaltered headlines:
Iran-made bomb used in Khost attack, claims Hekmatyar

US doesn't want to accept it's failures in Afghanistan.... So who to blame?
First it was Pakistan.... Now add Iran and Russia..

Again reality is different that whatever is presented by different nations...Russia and Iran has their own intentions...But at the end of the day, Pakistan is the only nation, that has all the cards to settle Afganistan problem..The sooner Pakistan and Afganistan are at peace with each other, the better for Afganistan to stabilize itself...Russia and US are simply spoilers to the party..And to some extent, with the narratives of anti US objective, Iran is trying to spread its influence through east, but i doubt they will get much traction in Afganistan...

May be you should go back and revise your own history and then you would realize that your country men were the pioneers of suicide bombings and introduced it in to the middle east region as a way to attain military/political objectives.

Iranian never used it against civilian.
bring for me one example of Iranian suicide attack against innocent people.

Yes, nobody here deny that both Israeli/American soldiers kicked out of Lebanon by martyrdom attacks but those are soldiers not civilian.

lol , what about 1983 Kuwait bombings, AMIA bombing in Argentina? Are you going to deny the fact that Iranian government directly supported "Islamic jihad"organization (who's members were directly recruited from IRG) which was responsible for many suicide bombings?

All of those attacks were done by Zionist lobbies, false flag operations.

Why should Iranians think about bombing a friendly country like Argentina which is fighting against British colonialists? Are you stupid or something?

Kuwait bombing and blaming Iran should be the most stupid thing from your kind, again there was no reason for post-revolution weakened Iran to plot an attack in her neighbor's soil.

You are too stupid dude, stick to Israeli propaganda. Why should you believe in Iranian words?

To see the Game in Afghanistan in isolation is totally a wrong idea. Pakistan must take over Afghanistan in order to handle the upcoming international waves of destruction. In case, if a major war erupts some where near China or Mediterranean.
