US soldier released in exchange for Afghan Gitmo detainees

Old Quetta shura members, whose families are kept hostages by ISI, are respected but not followed by Taliban commanders who are actually present on the ground and are leading the fighters.

@pakdefender is an idiot, lot has changed after 9/11, Pakistan has lost respect and credibility in the ranks and files of Taliban. Only haqqani group are listening to ISI, in exchange of sanctuary in North waziristan. It is understandable as haqqanis are linked with ISI since 70s.

Describe the constructive role of Pakistan in Afghanistan?. Last time i checked, kunar is getting "invaded" by Pakistan army with gunship helicopters and hundreds of rockets shot on Afghan villages on border. Neither Afghan Taliban or Kabul is o.k with this.
again its shows ur ignorance ALL the afghani talibs commanders from different provinces of Afghanistan were flown to qatar for negotiation with american by Pakistan intelligence services and CIA appreciated it now you see afghan talibs are not attacking Americans rather they are banging Afghan agency and Afghan national army so Quetta shura is ineffective good if our namak haram enemy yehi smjhta hai to we are ok with it ;) see the injured Afghani talib in kandhar he love Pakistan look at the T shirt he is wearing

Kunar was bombed because of Swat Taliban and Fazalullah who are sheltered by NDS in Kunar, and are attacking Pakistani posts from their bases there.
The NDS were of the idea that they can get away with sheltering such elements coz they will be protected by the US and NATO security umbrella. Unfortunately for them the Western alliance is only interested in their short term goals and when the time came left them high and dry.

How shelling differentiates between mobile force of fazlullah and civilians of kunar?

It doesn't.
A bullet kills it doesn't differentiate between men and women, young and old.
Shelling doesn't differentiate but the people who are firing the bullet or the shell do.
Fazlullah is as much mobile as the local shepherd or the farmer.

Who is talking about bullets?. Pakistani border force use heavy artillary shelling on Afghan villages after taliban attack. You are aware of the terrain of kunar, taliban disappear and disperse....while hours after that, pakistani forces start shelling afghan civilian population as revenge. This has been going on for years.

so u think Kunar and nooristan is free from ISI agents obviously ISI agents on the ground informed about the returning TTP members so army banged their afghani ***

If you are under attack you want your artillery to start firing straight away. There is no point waiting hours after an attack before you start firing the heavy guns. So I don't believe your assumption about waiting hours.

Poor excuse, we dont know about ISI presence in kunar, locals are afraid to become spies of CIA , as they are executed by taliban for it.
TTP doesnt take shelter in border villages, they attack pakistani check posts and then retreat back to their bases. Pakistani forces on the other hand, are incompetent, specially FC, in effectively countering taliban raid but are very bold and shameless in shelling border afghan villages after attack, for days

In the fighting phase, every thing is exchanged. When attack is finished and attackers have either died or retreated. Then hours after that second phase comes, "artillary shelling of afghan villages in reteliation", and it continues for days.

And who told you, you can use artillary in close combat?

It depends how close the close combat is.
As you mentioned look at the terrain of Kunar, if you attack a post in one location because of the terrain you won't be able to go too far before the artillery bombardment will start. There was a video posted in a thread in this section where TTP were attacking a NATO convoy, you can clearly see the distance between the two forces and can imagine how artillery can be used to subdue the attackers.

For ambushing convoy, different tactics are used. Attacking a military check post is very difficult, it is bunkered and is at height. So it is surrounded with large number of fighters and rained with RPGs. The fighting occurs within distance of meters. I am here taking about pakistan military posts. American posts in kunar, were very defended.
