US: One Lucky Lottery Ticket Wins Mega Millions' $1BILLION Prize!!!

.
Sweet!

If that we're me I'd definitely buy a load of stuff I don't need.

. . . .

A ticket sold in Michigan has won the Mega Millions jackpot, estimated at $1 billion.

So after taxes and if he/she decides to take the lump sum instead of the 30-year pay-off, they'll probably get around $600-$650 million loool. That's a pretty nice chunk of change. Talk about a life changing experience!

Hopefully this lottery winner is smart and invest the gains and won’t blow it on luxury cars or some nonsense like so many others.

I was once told by a fixed income analyst at a company I was working for that the lottery gives the shaft to people who pick the cash option (as if that isn't obvious). You can actually pick the annuity and then sell it to a financial company and they will pay you a FAR more generous lump sum.

Absolutely. A much better way to go. Funny you said that because I was talking to someone at work yesterday about exactly that. Even banks or credit unions would offer you a much better payoff than the lottery. There's nothing better as a guarantee of collateral than a lottery payoff, so you would get a lot of offers competing against each other. A bank that can earn somewhere in the vicinity of 100 million in 30 years would offer you a lot more for sure.

Well, I usually look at things like this and figure it's their money, they can do whatever they want with it. Funny thing is a lot of people think it would be difficult to spend that much money, lol. That can be spent literally in one day!

Exactly. It is basically zero risk. This is why they'd be eager to buy it. It is a guaranteed return for 30 years.

They will happily pay you a larger lump sum than the lowballing lottery would.

Oh man such a sum like that will drive people insane! Smaller sums have done so to people who won.
The thing is, unless you're willing to make everyone you know i.e. family, friends etc all millionaires as well it can be a lonely life. Everyone else still has to go to work, pay the bills, have to live life.
There's only so many luxury holidays you can go on, massive houses you can buy, cars to collect etc, before it becomes dull, and it happens fast.

The United States of America is Hell (that is why they have weapons, are violent, attack people and are the buyer of last resort). A lowly devil with money, in Hell, is still a lowly devil in Hell.

Yes, it is. Please help us convince everybody to stay away and not move over here. I'm sure their countries are not as decrepit as ours. But they relentlessly come over anyways.

And I think the most important thing is with that kind of lottery winning you don't understand the value of money ,the hard work and hence the values and meaning of life. You don't get a grooming.
