This will be all IMF loans. The Americans aren't spending a dime from their own money.
Americans cant spend their own dime because they dont have it, simple. China has many dimes it can spend from its own real cash. just sayin.

So the Iron Brother is not all that solid, it seems.
Why would Iron Brother be solid when NRO2 included capitulation to US and limit relationship with China.

I am surprised China hasn’t summoned the establishment, generals, PDM and squeezed their balls.

So….did they sign off on the surrender of nukes program yet?
Baqi to kuch bacha he nahi siwaye unke…..

These are the top 10 imports (2020 data):

Mineral fuels including oil: US$10.3 billion (22.5% of total imports)
Electrical machinery, equipment: $4.6 billion (9.9%)
Machinery including computers: $4.1 billion (8.9%)
Iron, steel: $3.2 billion (6.9%)
Animal/vegetable fats, oils, waxes: $2.25 billion (4.9%)
Plastics, plastic articles: $2.17 billion (4.7%)
Organic chemicals: $2.13 billion (4.7%)
Vehicles: $1.44 billion (3.1%)
Cotton: $1.39 billion (3%)
Oil seeds: $1.28 billion (2.8%)
Pakistan’s top 10 imports accounted for 71.5% of the overall value of its product purchases from other countries.

The point here is that nearly three-fourths of the imports are essential, at least, if not more.
Except for fuel oils, there is nothing in that list that can't be localized in the next 5 years if we take it on as an existential crisis and go about it on a war footing.

Strong support basically means “Lots of prayers”

They use to normally announce aid, Hydel power project or something else. Now they pray for us by supporting us

Quietly they like PPP and PMLN, you’d be surprised to see the amount of corruption in the early CPEC contracts. Sab mil kar khatay hai

It's not about being solid but productive. China has invested in Vietnam too and check their productivity in exports vs for example China's investment in Pakistan and Sri Lanka that led to bankruptcies

Pakistan is economically weak, so even if you switch China with US, and China try to attempt the regime change with the same hold on Pakistan's institution, than that friendship would fall to.

Pakistan is economically weak, so even if you switch China with US, and China try to attempt the regime change with the same hold on Pakistan's institution, than that friendship would fall to.

The issue, if there is any here, is pretty simple: Pakistan was hoping for, and trying to create, a bidding war between China and USA to offer the best they could to garner Pakistan's support based on an over-exaggerated sense of its own importance in the Great Game. When that failed, as was evident from the very beginning, we arrive at what we have today. Very predictably, as I have mentioned all along.

Except for fuel oils, there is nothing in that list that can't be localized in the next 5 years if we take it on as an existential crisis and go about it on a war footing.

Except that these magical 5 years have never started for the last 50 years. And they won't for a good time yet, too.
