US inciting civil war in Venezuela for oil: Bolivia

Bolivian President Evo Morales

The US is pushing Venezuela toward a “civil war” as it has eyes on the country’s oil wealth, Bolivian President Evo Morales has warned.

“I believe [the US] is trying to incite if not a coup d’état then a civil war from their empire,” Morales told a Latin American Youth Summit in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz on Friday.

“They ... always ... sponsor internal conflicts so that they can interfere and invade us to take control of our oil reserves,” he added.

Morales called on people to stand in solidarity with Venezuela, saying the world needs an “anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist and anti-colonial youth.”

Venezuela has witnessed violent pro-and anti-government protests since February 12.

The opposition has criticized the administration of President Nicolas Maduro for the country's high crime rate and economic hardships, claiming that his policies have led to a shortage of essential goods and a high inflation rate.

Maduro, however, has accused the United States of backing the opposition to launch a coup d’état in the South American country.

The Venezuelan leader ordered the expulsion of three American consular officials earlier in February, accusing them of meeting with student protest leaders under the guise of offering them visas to destabilize the country.

Washington, however, denied the charges, saying the allegations are “baseless and false.”

USA pissed off 2/3 countries of the world

Its Presstv for you. When you have bad economic policies of course the people will respond and then you blame on the U.S. for doing a bad job. Or his opponents which are Venezuelans themselves.

Venezuela's president orders 30pct wage increase - Yahoo News
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — President Nicolas Maduro is boosting Venezuela's minimum wage to defend workers' salaries against inflation running at nearly 60 percent.

Maduro said Tuesday that the 30 percent increase for wages and pension payments will take effect Thursday, in honor of the May 1 international workers day. It follows a 10 percent boost in January.

The socialist president blames the problem on his opponents, accusing them of waging "economic war" on his year-old administration by raising prices and hoarding goods while staging protests demanding he resign.

Economists say raising wages feeds an inflationary spiral and adds to the government deficit.

The increase takes Venezuela's minimum wage to 4,252 bolivars a month. That's $675 at the official exchange rate but less than a tenth that amount at the widely used black market rate.

thanks saint

Let's see.....the current economy is in shambles and the opposition is saying that Maduro sucks and needs to change his policies.

That suddenly is considered "coup" talk in a supposed democracy??

If you were a dictator and people were challenging your policies this would sound like coup talk...
