The maid should be brought back to india and do the needful for humiliating her mother country for the greed of settling in US...anyway inherent weakness in the case is fully exposed ...
the basis of lying and making false promises are proving to be baseless
Stupid US authorities can't read and write proper English ... !!!
Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade case: Screenshot shows US officials misread info - Financial Express
A screenshot of the visa application submitted for Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade's maid Sangeeta Richard indicates US authorities apparently misinterpreted information regarding the wage to be paid to the domestic help.
The US State Department investigator from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security seemingly erred by considering Devyani Khobragade's salary of USD 4,500 as that of her maid Sangeeta Richard.
That this discrepancy led to the arrest of Devyani Khobragade on charges of visa fraud in New York on December 12, is evident from the page one of the temporary work visa application and the complaint filed by Bureau of Diplomatic Security, sources said.
The relevant page of the visa application form (DS-160) clearly mentions that the employer's salary is USD 4,500 and not that of the maid, according to an authentic screenshot provided by sources.
The last question on the page is regarding the monthly salary of the employer and the screenshot shows the answer was given as USD 4,500.
Based on the same information, however, the 11-page complaint filed by the agent of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security alleges that Devyani Khobragade promised to pay USD 4,500 to her maid.
The Visa Application stated that Witness-1 was to be paid USD 4,500 per month in US dollars," alleged Mark J Smith, Special Agent of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
It is this complaint which became the basis for the arrest warrant issued for Devyani Khobragade by a court in New York. A press release issued by the Southern District of New York too made the same claim. "The Visa Application stated that Witness-1 was to be paid USD 4,500 per month," it said. There was no immediate reaction from the State Department on the issue.
yeah and thats a good thing but why didn't your authorities paid taxes on those tickets? Taxfree tickest are only for diplomats and not for anyone else.
BURN *** BURN *** BURN *** hahahhaahahahah if they kick all Indian's out USA you would never survive.India might as well sever ties with the US, waste time to think up with such a nonsense.
India should stand your ground and kick out all the US diplomat and recall all your H1b visa holder in the US. Now that will teach the US government a lesson, how bout put economic sanction on the US?
We may severe the ties with US...but we will prove the point...you know...India might as well sever ties with the US, waste time to think up with such a nonsense.
India should stand your ground and kick out all the US diplomat and recall all your H1b visa holder in the US. Now that will teach the US government a lesson, how bout put economic sanction on the US?
We all know India have no legal ground to bind the US government to free your criminal.
This isn't the first time US embassy provide airfare to the immigrant to come to the US. Millions of people in the past were received the airfare from the US government to come to the US.
US diplomat didn't commit any crime, all the India government want to find some B.S charge to bind the US government to let a criminal from India free.
We will not kick out US diplomats, but we will intimidate them...India should stand your ground and kick out all the US diplomat and recall all your H1b visa holder in the US. Now that will teach the US government a lesson, how bout put economic sanction on the US?
OK you agree, that there is jungle law in US. That need to stop.
A rep from a first world country evading tax. What do he thing he is. India is not a jungle kingdom ...TAX EAVDERS must be punished.
The criminal commit serious crime in the US, she commit visa fraud, illegally brought a maid into the US, holding the maid against her will by withholding her passport, exploitation of the slave wage. All this a serous crime against humanity. Paying someone for airfare isn't a crime, don't matter where you live, this kind of charge won't hold up in the court of law.
We will not kick out US diplomats, but we will intimidate them...
We will not recall our H1b visas, but we will encourage them...
Any problem...
India government gutless bunch, instead of fight back against the US government with some knockout punch, India government come up with misusing privilege charge, from this charge come up with taxes evasion charge.
India can't prosecute US diplomat carry US government order and perform his or her duty as a diplomat.
