WASHINGTON: United States has decided to carry off a key allocation under what was called Pakistan Counterinsurgency Capability fund while helping in the modernization of security forces.

According to the daily Pioneer newspaper, Pakistan had been given 800.5 million dollars by American foreign office under counterinsurgency capabilities fund in year 2013.

The aim of the fund was to enhance the capabilities of Pakistan's military in countering insurgency.

However, Obama administration has opted to retain the flow of assistance to Pakistan at $1.3 billion in the ensuring fiscal year.

The proposed assistance for Pakistan during American fiscal 2014, beginning October this year, includes about $860 million in development or non-military assistance and $300 million in military assistance under the Foreign Military Financing programme, the newspaper added. (Monitoring Desk)

weird...Pakistan starts offensive in Tirah Valley and they stop the counterinsurgency fund....

America has stopped funding at a critical jencture when we have been conducting an operation in Tirah. I wonder what this is all about. US is by all means a very lousy ally. It does not help us when we are down, treats India more favorably than us and spends much more on Iraq and Afghanistan than on Pakistan.

Well Afghanistan and Iraq are much more cooperative with the US and its interests than Pakistanhas proved to be. By playing both sides Pakistan- in pursuit of protecting its own interests- has got the worst of both worlds and now both sides have serious issues with Pakistan. The Iraqis and Afghanis were pummelled into cooperation and the US has ensured people it can do business with are in key positions of power.

The Indian point is entirely seperate.
