You know what I think. Someone recently told me that this virus cannot defeat poor nations. Rich nations are suffering because their immune system is not very evolved or used to virus attacks. Poorer nations are already used to certain living conditions and hygiene. The upside is that from an early stage the immune system is strong and develops pretty rigorously. A relatively mild virus such as the coronavirus won't be able to defeat such a strong immune system. The richer nations on the other hand live in cleaner environments, but this is where the immune system doesn't develop strongly.

There is some logic to this argument.
