US arms left behind in Afghanistan fall into TTP hands

Old news. This has been known since months.

Yep, and combine that with the terrain in the region, we pretty much don't have any real advantage over them unless we bring out drones.

Definitely. Insurgency assaults normally fail due to air support and aerial surveillance. However, this is not used to fight the TTP within Pakistan, as they tend to mingle with civilians and put their weapon stashes in civilian areas, so it’s not like the drone can use thermal imagery to see stashes deep in caves in Baloch or Khyber mountains, as there often aren’t stashes in the wilderness like Afghanistan had.

You also have to remember that the Taliban and TTP have high AA capability in the form of Stinger missiles and AA cannons. We don’t have air superiority in Afghanistan, so it would be stupid to risk the drones that we have in such scarce numbers, as well as Pakistan trying not to piss off the IEA at this moment in time

Stinger battery packs been expired bro. If Faujis were serious, they would do mop up operations with assisted gunship runs making them flee into Afghanistan. But with that comes danger of civilian casualties. That will just piss the tribal pathans off.

Faujis want to keep tribals busy with TTP. Just to exert enough pressure to keep them off their backs.

If British created Divide and Rule then these gernails have perfected it.

Don't think the Taliban have Stinger missiles. If they did, its probably very old since the U.S. didn't encounter anything like that except for rpgs or anti air guns. ANA didn't have any Stingers provided since the Taliban at the time didn't have any air support. Now they have a Blackhawk flying but don't see any other aircraft flying since they were sabotaged or destroyed.

Weren't the stingers all either bought back or seized/destroyed by units of 5th special forces group and CIA units in the early days of operation 'enduring freedom' ?

. . . .
?

if I'm not mistaken they did deploy those guys just pre invasion to both get support of anti Taliban warlords, Dostum and others, rescue Karzai, and try get a hold of any old stinger stocks.. no ?

US left behind black hawk helos, what makes you think they went on a search and destroy mission for stingers?

This has been known for a long time since the pictures and videos showing U.S. made weaponry falling into Taliban hands especially with the ANA collapsing so quickly. This is not about aiding the TTP or BLA. Lots of people on this forum were celebrating and mocking about how much weaponry fell into Taliban hands and made them more formidable. At the same time there are consequences of those same weaponry being used against Pakistan. I mean we always have arguments of good Taliban and bad.

The US army left a lot of weaponry behind. Yet it also destroyed the more sensitive weapons and took home other weapons. The US army could have easily destroyed all weapons before leaving. It chose to leave weapons in tact because the goal is to spread chaos in Pakistan.

Wouldn't matter since many of the weapons belong to the ANA. Hence the Taliban have Humvees and MRAPs.
