US and Iran communicate via Pakistan and Switzerland

I just wanted to make the younger Pakistani generation aware of this if they are not already aware of it.

Since 1979, the United States and Iran do not have direct channels of communication but If either country needs to say anything official to each other then Pakistan and Switzerland are used as the medium.

The United States delivers official communication to Pakistan which Pakistan then passes onto Iran.

Iran delivers official communication to Switzerland which Switzerland then passes onto the US.

So, please spare the conspiracy theories during these heightened tensions such as Pompeo phoning General Bajwa.

It's not negotiations, just for official communications purposes from the US and Iran without any input from Pakistan and Switzerland.
