I've worked for distribution companies that hired almost all eastern europeans and these people worked hard. Whites and Asians were slackers at the picking line but these guys and gals are hard workers no doubt about that. One of the pickers was a qualified aircraft engineer, and almost every one of them was degree educated.

Brexit was a good way to stop them coming and many left after and many are leaving.

Their ability to work long hard shifts and getting in to every sector scared the hell out of the locals.

I can guarantee you that our elder generation worked harder, for less wages and there was no benefit safety net for them, unlike for the European workers. You said Asians and Whites are lazy at that particular job, fair enough, I can show you double the number of Eastern European workers slacking all day, and we can start off with municipal projects such as local road work. There is a good and bad everywhere. The main reason they were hired in huge numbers was that they will work for minimum wages, and an excess supply keeps wages at that level.

Agreed but I am talking of recent times. Eastern europeans were getting in to skilled sector rapidly and drove salaries down in an already competitive market post depression.
