Companies and institutions that came together under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industry (SSB) signed the "Autonomous Recon, Guidance and Navigation with Collaborative Robots R&D Project."

Within the scope of the project, UAVs and UGVs are planned to act autonomously and in swarm, independent of GPS.

Thanks to new technologies, unmanned vehicles that will act as swarm and will be able to move independently from GPS even in closed environments, perform mapping and position simultaneously.

Polonom - SelviTech business partnership is the main contractor of Robotim Project. TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul Commerce University and Balıkesir University will also take part in the project as contractors.

This is the most interesting part for me, maybe I'm not grasping the full capabilities though.

Anyway, this reminds me of the scene from Prometheus where they sent out mini drones to map out the caverns. The technology literally looks identical.

No idea how feasible this would be in actual use but it's very impressive.
