U.S. diplomat to visit Pakistan soon: official12:48, October 24, 2009
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is planning to visit Pakistan soon, Assistant Secretary of State P.J. Crowley said here on Friday.
Crowley declined to disclose the schedule of Clinton's trip for security reasons. "We are not going to announce specific dates for security reasons," he said.
Crowley made the remarks when U.S. President Barack Obama and his administration has kept voicing concerns over the tense situation not only in Afghanistan, but also in Pakistan.
Last week, Obama signed a 7.5 billion dollar aid package for Pakistan into law in hopes of supporting Pakistan's efforts on developing economy, strengthening democracy and combating extremism.
