Two policemen injured in Gujrat checkpost attack; two terrorists killed

GUJRAT: At least two policemen were injured in an armed attack on a police chekpost here on Wednesday night with two terrorists also killed in retaliation, officials said.

District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Zameerul Haq told Geo News that unidentified gunmen ambushed Goteriala Police Checkpost, injuring two policemen deployed there.

In retaliation, two terrorists were gunned down by the police, he added.

DPO Haq said exact numbers of attackers was difficult to ascertain due to darkness. However, he added that the exchange of fire was ongoing as the attackers had been surrounded by the police force.
