Turkish new HALE UAV will fly in 2019

New Turkish HALE UAV will start to fly in the beginning of 2019 and after tests, it will enter to Turkish inventory in the beginning of 2020.

New HALE class UAV will be equipped with Aselsan made AESA radar, will fly up to 40000 feet high and be able to carry 450kg inside and 900kg outside load.

Turkish defence minister said that it will be a maneuverable UAV but not as much as jet, like half the maneuver of F16(jet).

We dont know what kind of engine it will use. It will use 2x900 hp Turboprop engine

The interesting part is it will also be able to carry SOM cruise missiles and mk82 smart bombs.

Turkey is very strong in radio signals as it export it to many NATO countries.. they created their own sophisticated crypto system..
Actually there is story behind it and why Turkey gave huge attention to this field..

In Cyprus war, someone gave an order like a general to Turkish jets to shoot a ship, after that they found out that it was their own ship.. after this event Turkey created Aselsan(today Turkish biggest army technology company) to make their own radio and communication devices..

The cool thing about this UAV is it will also be able to shoot Air to Air missiles thanks to its AESA radar.. it can be used as air support vehicle...

Also, it was updated that the engine will be 2x550 hp engine...

To secure the signals, It is a must to use domestic antenna, electronic and softwares and crypto technology on such vehicles.

It would be cool if they can make a 4 engined UAV like those 4 engined WW2 bombers. Germany made 1 that looks like a 2 engined bomber.

If Russia is in need of such a UAV, Turkey would have no problem developing one for them
