The representatives of Turkish defense industry firm Nurol Makina were paying an official visit to Bucharest.

Thus, the state secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism, Sorin Encutescu, has received on Wednesday Huseyin Aykol, general manager Nurol Makina –România and Olcay Kizil, technical consultant, a press release informs.



“During the meeting it was analyzed the status of the undertaken actions and the steps taken to achieve a cooperation with the defense industry in Romania regarding the manufacture of 4X4, 6X6, 8X8 armored and non-armored vehicles,” the release reads.

Nurol Makina ve Sanayi A.S.has almost 40 years experience manufacturing turnkey industrial plants and over 20 years experience in the defense industry.

The Turkish company designs indigenous systems and offers special purpose vehicle solutions such as EJDER 4×4 and 6×6 Wheeled Armored Vehicle family, Riot Control Vehicle (TOMA), Armored wagons and Armored Cash Transportation Vehicle.
Also, Nurol Makina designs and produces armored and non-armored shelters that are compatible with NATO, ACE and ISO standards. The company has also great experience on production and design of additional armor sets (Add-0n Armours) that can be bolted, command-and-shooter cupolas and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) system solutions.

The forums are buzzing in here about this news.The Romanian Army has issued a ROI (request of intent) last year about its need for 500 4x4 armoured vehicles and 500 4x4 unarmoured vehicles.The speculations are about the Nurol Ejder 4x4 or Nurol Ylgaz 4x4.

Is it some sort of co-development like the RN-94 was.. It's sad to see Roketsan poking holes into one, it would have made a nice museum piece...

Why do they even use real vechiles(out of commission) for these kinds of test ? wouldn't a modular mockup be a better choice, or are they just that inclined into testing it with real vechiles to get better data
