What's new

Turkey war ship sailing to Andaman sea for Rohingya. What does it mean?

At prima facie it looks so.. But neither turkey can threaten somebody such a long distance from their shores nor they can support any conflict there.. Even NATO wont support any such operation... Lets see the true intentions of them..

Question now is, if all in the region denies them entry in their land, can they take these Rohingyas to their land and settle them?
Their action will help to get Prestige from other Muslim nations ... that's importance regardless of taking Rohingyas.

.
LOL ... u point out a truth here. A BLOODY TRUTH !

Yes, Turkey is seeking for the Prestige of Muslim world to compete with Saudi Arabia, Egypt ... that's reason why they send American FFG to search "their bros" in Asia. They wanna be a new leader in Middle-East !
they simply Can't, Arabs are spoiled Kids. Iran is a well.... and Indonesia is a already leader of ASEAN.

.
What's the problem here? not just Turkey that want to lend a hand to help rohingya, even the poor Gambia offering proposal to resettle rohingya in their country. Just imagine that. Turkey can help send rohingya refugee to resettle in Gambia. Nice.

show off force against Myanmar ?

Maybe Indonesia and Malaysia should join the hand with Turkey to pressure against Myanmar

You may personally not be religious but Indonesia and Malaysia (and Bangladesh ) are the biggest muslim countries in the region if the Burmese can do that to the Rohinga they can hate and hurt Indonesian and Malaysian muslims too

The Burmese need to have consequences for their actions

After the crisis on the sea is over, Indonesia will send back the refugee to their country of origin with our 4 LPD.

Strictly Iran belongs to Persia, not Arab ... anyways U.S knew much more than China about situations in Middle-East, i just know the Oil War won't stop coz too many foreign influences behind it ... the Turky can't fly over Middle-East before the war end and their door is ON FIRE. :coffee:

actually lot of voice in Indonesia to urging our government to taking harder stances against Myanmar, including showing off our Forces near their territorial water border to give the presence of solidarity for humanity before them and to prevent them to dumping people into sea......

Myanmar's navy found two boats, one carrying more than 200 Bangladeshis, the government said on Friday, after the military chief said some migrants landing in Malaysia and Indonesia this month are pretending to be Rohingya Muslims so they can get U.N. aid.

The military chief's remarks are sure to spark concern after the United States this week stressed the need for Myanmar to address what it saw as the root cause of the migration, which included "racially and religiously motivated discrimination and violence" against the ethnic minority Rohingya.

Most of Myanmar's 1.1 million Rohingya are stateless and live in apartheid-like conditions in Rakhine State in western Myanmar. Almost 140,000 were displaced in deadly clashes with Buddhists in Rakhine in 2012.

U.N. agencies have urged regional governments to protect thousands of migrants stranded on boats in the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman sea with dwindling supplies.

The two boats, one carrying migrants and the other empty, came from Ranong, in southern Thailand, the Rakhine state government said in a press release. The people smugglers' original plan had been to load the boats with 300 migrants each and take them to Thailand, it said.

"While on patrol in Myanmar waters, the Myanmar Navy ship 568 found a boat loaded with about 200 Bengali and another empty boat at sea about four miles west of Thinbaw Gway Village, Maungdaw Township," Myanmar government spokesman Ye Htut said on his Facebook page, using the government's term for illegal migrants from Bangladesh.

Altogether, 219 people were on the boat, said Ye Htut, including nine crew members and "two Bengali interpreters".

The migrants were "from Cox's Bazar, Chittagong and northern Dhaka," referring to cities and towns in Bangladesh, he said.

Hundreds of migrants, including Rohingya from Myanmar and Bangladeshis fleeing persecution and poverty at home, have been pushed back out to sea by Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia this month. Many now face sickness and possible starvation.

Senior Myanmar General Min Aung Hlaing "hinted that most victims are expected to assume themselves to be Rohingya from Myanmar in the hope of receiving assistance from UNHCR" during a meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday, the state-backed Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported.

"He stressed the need to investigate their country of origin rather than to accuse a country," the newspaper reported.

Scores of Rohingya are paying off people smugglers and returning to the squalid camps they used to live in after being held for months on overcrowded ships.

The Rohingya have long complained of state-sanctioned discrimination in Myanmar and are denied citizenship. Myanmar denies discriminating against the group and has said it is not the source of the problem.

The UNHCR refugee agency on Friday said it welcomed the disembarkation of "more than 200 people", adding that it hoped more would follow.

"It is estimated that up to 2,000 people are still stranded on boats in the Bay of Bengal. We hope that this recent positive development will be followed by other disembarkations in Myanmar and across the region. This needs to happen before the coming monsoon rains."

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Thursday pledged assistance and ordered the navy to rescue thousands adrift at sea, and a Thai official said Myanmar had agreed to attend an emergency conference on the crisis.

Malaysia and Indonesia have also said they would let as many as 7,000 migrants on the seas now to come ashore temporarily, but no more.

Both countries have also said that temporary shelters would be set up to house the migrants but Thailand, a traditional transit point for those trying to reach Malaysia for work, said it would not follow suit.

It shows all boat people did not come from Myanmar...

It means what it means. It's a mercy mission, maybe some 'peaceful Budhists' can't digest it.

Thailand illegal immigrants are big problems that drain our economy badly. We have been hosting too many humanitarian camps. If Turkey is coming for their resettlement in Turkey' s land, we are very happy.

But if Turkey warship propose is to facilitate there migration to Thailand, then ....

Our birth rates today as low as Eastern Europens we need fresh work force in industrial Anatolian cities specially kind will work for low wages. Its gonna be no problem to take some few million of these guys they will boost our economy and probably became a very loyal minority for at least next 3 generations.

We are talking about illegal immigrants problem here and not religious problem. Perhaps a middle east country man like you, viewing human relationships from religious eye glasses couldn't understand it.

good for Turkey. For those people living far away from South East Asia, Thailand has been hosting war refugees since ancient time. Vietnam war, Cambodia civil war, Myanmar karen ethnic conflict, Myanmar Shan ethnic conflict , China civil war , and Chinese Malaysia vs Malaysian government civil war. We are fed up with. new illegal immigrants. bro.

True and it is going to be a big problem in the future too because those are people are not known for being grateful. When given a chance, they will breed like cockroaches and literally be a pain in the *** for you. You can take Sri Lanka as an example where we helped a lot of muslims at time of European invasions only to have them spitting back at us now. So you should be very careful.

.
We don't want illegal immigrants. Wish to know Turkey' s intentions.

Turkiye wants more Citizens, even Rohingyas will do.
OR
Turkiye just wants to fish in troubled waters.

Take your pick from the above.
