Turkey Resumes Iran Oil Imports under Sanctions Waiver
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Turkey has resumed imports of Iranian crude oil after a one-month hiatus in November when US sanctions on Iran were reimposed, trading and shipping sources said.

Turkey used to import about 200,000 bpd of Iranian crude before Washington announced last year that it would pull out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and reimpose sanctions.

Turkey had reduced its imports from Iran in the months prior to sanctions coming into force in early November. Its imports fell to zero in November.

But in December Turkey took delivery of two tankers carrying Iranian crude, equivalent to about 54,000 bpd, according to a shipping and trading source familiar with the matter, Reuters reported.

The Solan tanker delivered into the port of Aliaga, while the Sea Topaz I discharged at Tutunciftlik.

So far in January, Turkey is set to receive a cargo from the Iranian-owned tanker Sinopa, the sources and Refinitiv Eikon ship tracking showed.

Turkish officials and Tupras were not immediately available to comment.

The United States granted Turkey and other countries import waivers in early November. Turkey said it was permitted to take 3 million tons a year, equivalent to about 60,000 barrels per day (bpd), under the waiver

It is the most disgusting type of policy in the world, which is trying to punish the people of a country by embargo and to prevent access to basic services and infrastructure and health services.

Turkish Iranian friendship will be more prominent when deepening economic relations. Political issues between Turkey and Iran is not in insoluble. While modern political history has pushed us to different camps, we need to know that it can not last long. The artificial barriers that are formed between us will destined to be demolished.

Turkey resumed a small purchase of Iranian oil based on the waiver and amount set by US. let's not fool ourselves here, Turkey is still heeding to the ban. No way Turkey can confront US

Disgusting, China needs to figure out a 10 year plan to decouple from the US economy.

People are awaking to the ugliness of this zionist Amerikan monster.

Europeans better revolt, they were revolting until the jewish supported ''white' nationalist' movement took over much of Europe. And the yellow jackets are like a wife protesting their husband is punching her in the wrong eye. Pointless, no traditional left wing leader is coming out to challenge Macron. France is only given zionist options in politics, and the yellow jackets are not anti-trump, 'just give me more free stuff and give more anti-Islamic 'laws' in Paris' is their motto, so they can be controlled like African-Americans in the Amerikan democratic party. What do you expect of Western Europeans though. The French Revolution produced the reign of terror, and it was all french led reign of terror. It took a Corsican to put an end to it all.

Turkey can confront the US. It is one of the few Muslim nations which can.

The destiny of Iran and its neighbors is greater unity and cohesion to prevent Western designs on our region.

Both Turkey and Pakistan have left the American camp for good.

Keep in mind, whatever Iraq exports, we got a share in that.......same with Russia.......:sarcastic:

Interesting. Iraq I can totally see and understand.

I'm just wondering about Russia though. How does Iran export this energy to Russia? Through Caspian sea, Azerbaijan and Central asia?

I think ISIS situation showed the world hypocrisy. If ISIS a ruthless territorial entity hated by the entire world, could sell tens of thousands of barrels of oil a day. Then Iran has “ways” of getting its oil sold. Nonetheless there will be some hit to the bottom line.

Turkey and Iran could crush the enemies in the region if they become strategic allies. Culturally and ethnically they are very similar. However, history has shown that both sides want to eventually be King. You can’t have two kings running a palace.
