1) I said, today's Crimean native Turks are descendants of Crimean natives who lived a few centuries earlier. Is it hard to get into your brain?

What is your point? There are Russians in Crimea that are descendants of the first Russian settlers.

2) Crimean Tatars are not Mongols, but contrary they are Turks. Your history knowledge lacks.

And i never said they were, either you read my posts carefully or read everyones posts carefully and not mix me up with others.

3) People join NATO, because of existing Russian threat. You make threats, more countries will join NATO eventually.

People were joining NATO long before any "threats".

It is Turkey's choice to be US poodle but that does not change the consequence of Turkey trying to pound over its own weight class. Qatar did that and now thrown in the dog house, so to speak.

 Turkey will never confront the Russian navy. As for aggressive stance towards NATO, what aggression was their on Russia's side? Is it Russia that has been expanding into western Europe? Last time i checked NATO kept expanding on Russia's borders, threatening them with missile shields, conducting military exercises near the Russian border, and sending foreign soldiers and military equipment near the Russian borders.

You think outdated Russian navy will make a chance against Turkish grand navy? Also Russia is having military exercises on Turkish border in Armenia and helps them occupy internationally Azeri recognized land. It works both ways my friend. What you do to others will be done to you. The worst is still to come.

If their Topol have the same failure statistics as have their proton rockets, then chances are that not one leaves her depot.

Serious now, what bullshit do you guys talk here? I must say it starts to annoy me. People without any credibility or degree in any subject come here, spill nonsense and take this as fact. Sometimes its funny. But sometimes just annoying.

.
Most of the time what VK says is funny though

Don't worry. Turkey is a pumped up beauty queen in the region.

The masters love her. So far!

Those diesel submarines from the 1960's and 1970's are just so scary, so are those old frigates. A single Yasen or Borei costs as much as half of your navy and can probably sink half your navy. And i'm not being funny, Turkey has nothing that can stop either of those submarines from sinking the Turkish navy.

No please don't

The earliest inhabitans of the Crimean Peninsula were the Tauri people and here are some interesting facts about these people

The Tauri (/ˈtaʊəri/; Ταῦροι in Ancient Greek), also Scythotauri, Tauri Scythae,Tauroscythae (Pliny, H. N. 4.85) were a people settled on the southern coast of the Crimea peninsula, inhabiting the Crimean Mountains and the narrow strip of land between the mountains and the Black Sea. They gave their name to the peninsula, which was known in ancient times as Taurica, Taurida and Tauris.

In his Histories, Herodotus describes the Tauri as living "by plundering and war". They became famous for their worship of a virgin goddess, to whom they sacrificed shipwrecked travellers and waylaid Greeks.[1] He makes a point of them living in Scythia geographically without themselves being Scythians.[2]. Pritsak and Golb (1982) believe they were a Turkic people.[3]

The Greeks identified the Tauric goddess with Artemis Tauropolos or withIphigeneia, daughter of Agamemnon. The Tauric custom of human sacrificeinspired the Greek legends of Iphigeneia and Orestes, recounted in Iphigeneia in Tauris by the playwright Euripides.

According to Herodotus, the manner of their sacrifice was to beat the head with a club and remove the head; then they either buried the body or threw it off a cliff, and lastly nailed the head to a cross. Prisoners of war likewise had their heads removed, and the head was then put onto a tall pole and placed at their house "in order that the whole house may be under their protection".

Although the Crimean coast eventually came to be dominated by Greek (and subsequently Roman) colonies, notably the one at Chersonesos, the Tauri remained a major threat to Greek power in the region. They engaged in piracy against ships on the Black Sea, mounting raids from their base at Symbolon (today's Balaklava). By the 2nd century BC they had become subject-allies of the Scythian king Scilurus.

Name

The word Tauri probably means "mountaineers",[4][5] which is supposed to be derived from an old root "Tau" meaning "a mountain".[6][7] This word appears to have one common root in several languages and simply signifies a mountain.[8] Toira in Assyrian means "a mountain" or "a chain of mountains", in Turkic languages tau signifies "a mountain", "a round or high building", "a rampart", the Celts called a "tower" or "rampart" tor, tour.[9][10]

You can't just ban Italian, German or Turkish airlines. That will start hardcore coldwar. It won't be comparable with the sanctions Russia is getting now. You don't want Russian Federations to disintegrate like Soviet Union  These Russian fanboys are so funny. :sarcastic:

Subs are not everything in naval warfare. Also your navy outside black sea can't reach black sea to help your outdated navy against superior Turkish navy. Russia has program for updating outdated black sea fleet but that is long way ahead.

The Yasen and Borei class nuclear submarines are fearsome weapons indeed.

I don't know if there is anything in the Turkish Navy that could contend against those? Even the US Navy would have serious problems.

They are a large part of naval warfare. Submarines can sink both surface vessels and other submarines.

They would not need to, the Black Sea fleet is more then capable of sinking Turkish ships and if need be aircraft can be used to sink ships.

Russian settlers' presence doesnt make Crimean Tatars alien to Crimea. Simple.

You said: Crimean Tatars are not native. I said they have more than 1500 years history in Crimea.

Living under tyranny of Russia and Soviet Union for centuries should have opened the eyes of any post-Soviet state, therefore joining NATO isnt surprising.

In your scenario the Black Sea fleet would have to fight the Turkish, Bulgarian, Romanian fleets + whatever USA ships deploy + NATO air assets from Romania, Turkey etc.....and anyway that's an implausible scenario as in nobody wants a war which is not needed.
I think the goal now is removing Russia from the Black Sea region and access to central Asian gas reserves, coupled with a graduate removal of the EU need for Russian gas.
In that respect, Ukraine/Georgia/Moldova signing the EU association treaty is a clear step forward, even with the Crimean situation. Having Ukraine is well worth the issue with Crimea.

My guess is that if the current trend continues Russia will be completely isolated in Europe in the next 5-10 years, with few to none leverages left over the EU countries.
