Has Turkey acquired the technology of active defense system for tanks called Zaslon developed in Ukraine? Thus at least emerges from the publication of shephardmedia. Earlier publication of janes also came to the same conclusion. The Turkish system is called the AKKOR system and was first introduced in 2015.

"An active defense system, apparently based on the Ukrainian Zaslon.Although the industry source said that the system will be under development for at least another year or two," write in a publication around the new version of the M60 that Turkey is developing.

Zaslon system was developed by Base Center for Microtech Critical Technologies in Kiev (source: en.uos.ua). It is designed for threats against a tank at a speed of 70 to 1200 meters / second. "The system releases a dense cloud of rapid shrapnel in the pathway of the incoming threat," write the editorial page on the company's website. "[...] The ZASLON response time is between 0.001 - 0.005 seconds compared to 0.07 seconds of the ARENA Russian system."
