A tunnel was found at LoC with one opening into Pakistan other into IoK.

Isn't the IoK side of LoC watched by BSF, 'heavily' armed large in numbers? If yes then two possibilities are either the tunnel is very old and/or BSF personnel were bought.

As as Icarus said, the geology of the rocks would make it nearly impossible not to dig without proper and modern machinery. Not to mention the land-mines and IEDs which means either the tunnel is not used or the 'terrorists' and 'smugglers' (as mentioned by Indian posters) are working in co-operation of BSF and know exactly where the devices are placed and must have a map to guide them.

So many loopholes and flaws in these claims.

There was mention of ultrasound having some useful properties but I never heard anything after that. So I presume, the authorities put more work into and made a final product. Its not hard to even make it ourselves, a portable ultrasound and just work to increase the frequency so you can change the depth. Research has to be put into it to determine the difference of different rock types and document accordingly. But knowing how India has been working, it will take 3 decades to actually give the green light for such a project.

The authorities should have not let on to the fact they found the tunnel. Let the people who made it repair it. Then arrest them, and get info out of them. Then find their friends and squeeze them too. Then you would send them to jail to rot.
