Tunisians Protest for the Right to Eat in Public During Ramadan

. .
Irrespective of who started the thread, but prohibition on eating/drinking in Ramadhan is totally wrong.

Eating/Drinking is a basic human right whenever one is hungry/thirsty. To prohibit it in name of "Respect" is madness.

No one prohibit "Eating"... none...
But in Tunisia, like many Muslim countries... Restaurant etc... have to close (Except Touristic areas or around Tourist affluence...)

i mean in Ramadan in public sir
Same, you can eat/drink in Public in Ramadan... No TN law prohibit such act.
As for Social pressure, that's another Q, but it' s not related to the "State".

And that's the main problem with this "Article"... They can't (or don't want to) differentiate Social Pressure/norms and Legislation...

. . . .
I'd rather say it's a matter of courtesy to avoid eating and drinking deliberately in public during Ramadan .

That's exactly it. Well said.

I never forget the volleyball match between Iran and the US during Ramadan in Tehran a few years ago . The US players never had any water in front of the Iranian fans until the evening call for prayer .

Outstanding, and typical of classy and respectful people.
