Dont you think that some other Europeans are building better Subs?
In terms of technology, the trio UK, France and Germany are almost equally strong. They differ just in nuances.

Germany has the handicap: they can’t build bigger boats, only conventional not allowed to build nuclear powered like the British and the French.

Greece and Korea, had to deal with many serious engineering problems with Type 214. Particularly the Greek navy suffered enormous problems.

Therefore, the Reis class (Type 214 variant) emerged as a almost new vessel with very significant differences.

While there were many reasons for this delay of the project, the majority were related to the resolution of the chronic problems of Type 214. Yes, the project has a background of more than 10 years.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the world, the Japanese navy abandon from development of fuel cells and continues with fully lithium-ion battery-powered submarines.

I would say the Germans build the best diesel-electric Submarines in the world.

It's not that clear. There are countries with serious experience in this field.

Closed cycle engine or fuel cell, there isn't just one AIP study. But, most likely Turkey could be follow Japan's path with Lithium-ion batteries. Not just Tubitak MAM or ASPILSAN , very important projects underway in Turkey and has worldwide R & D teams / companies as integrator. When we look closely to the silent projects that are mostly running under the SSB, we can see the clues.

Certainly other can build submarines too but I believe German submarines are much like German cars: high quality, longevity, worth the money.
