What's new

Troops of Karachi Corps are practicing tactical drills as part of Exercise “Jidar-ul-Hadeed”

That's more appropriate for this kind of situation. With telescopic sights it is perfect.

The thing is during maneuvering exercises Lower Ranks use G-3s and Higher Ranks Subedar and above use Type-56. It's not rule of thumb may differ in some command level.

I thought there exist a tactical doctrine which rules distribution of the section or unit equipment, from G-3,Ak-series (Chinese Versions), sniper-rifle, LMG,RPG(if it exists, seems not be standard equipment in all unit level). After observing and analysing I was expecting that there is no Standardization in combat infantry equipment distribution like in soviet, Chinese or NATO Forces.

Doctrine is there, standardisation of weapon authorization for different ranks is there as well.

The Ground Units need to be reinforced with weaponry , which counters the Apache Helicopter Threat India has vs the old fashioned Tank vs Tank battles

Need some of these part of the Sindh Defence Corps

Most likely the Apache India has or other Helicopters they have would be a concern in future warfare

Need Less of Soldiers Walking , and More Mobility

I do admire the Soldiers Walking / Marching in middle of Desert , however we need to adopt to the needs for Current Battle Field

Soldiers walking have M113A5s , M113s take soldiers and drop em off ,

100% for their courage to face the desert and carry full load of weapon and gear, facing the extreme heat in Desert is challenge

Perfectly , I was trying to finde something like that, how is the structure in the Pakistan Army, does the concept of Fire teams exist ? And whichweapons are part of it, does it include sniper rifles and RPG-7 ?
Yes, there was this old program on Dawn news hosted by Wajahat Saeed Khan called “We were soldiers” or something where it was covered, but that program is pretty old now so a lot of things may have changed, however the basic structure was covered there. There is a high level of standardization in the Pakistan army, much more than it seems, it cannot be judged by a short video clip or a few pictures. Especially in an exercise, take a look at deployments on the LOC or in WOT and see the uniformity there. Our soldiers are equipped very well as compared to armies with similar or even bigger budgets, Tactical gloves, knee and elbow pads, polarized glasses, individual mouth and earpieces, optics and so on are almost standard among the troops that are actually deployed and with time they will be common and present among all the reserves too. Even soldiers deployed at normal checkpoints in secure areas like Jhelum and Rawalpindi have these, I see them myself everyday. It’s just where the priorities lie that determine who gets the equipment first. And the most recent videos showed everyone at the LOC wearing modern, camouflaged plate carriers, so not even the older black ones.

The soldiers do not walk there, they are deployed near targets using M113s, Pakistan has a major numerical advantage when it comes to attack helicopters and once T-129s are delivered a technological advantage too, if they have apaches, we will have AH1s, Mi35s, Fennecs, T129s and maybe even AH1Zs. Plus we have APCs mounting MANPADS and ATGMS to counter such threats as well.

Apache have a massive tech advantage proven since 1990 war in Iraq-Kuwait vs Tanks
Also India has got access to smart weaponry (bomblets) from US which self directs to Tanks /APC some of these were seen on second Iraq war.

India already has sufficient Tank Ratio in their favor

We need an upgrade for troops (assets) in future it is not Tank vs Tank on ground anymore

Troops are better off on mobile unit vs marching in Desert so we need mobile transports at Unit Level
Much more is needed to upgrade the infantry

a) Need Anti Air defense from Turkey , the Mobile Variant which moves with Tanks
b) Troops need their own rides , so less walking , and more supplies (Water / Food / Ammo) carrying
c) More Gunships Helicopters

The exercise in Desert is a good drill but we need improvements for the Units so we are not a world war 2 force
