This is a metaphore. Earth is taken as a space ship and we humans are the crew, that's plundering, fighting, breeding etc...

This means more robots. ie. benefits that the human brings to combat in their eyes are falling vs the drawbacks it requires to have a human there.

Don't know if future will be indeed the way it is portrayed ....

We can only imagine but can never predict future !!!

Ill read up more today and bring up things more interesting....since it was made back in 2001 ill try to cross reference which recent technological breakthroughs ....

@Star Wars answer is yes and no.... Tall greys acting gud because they want to rule humans.... Zetans are bad and gud as they doing what their master told them to do.... Tall greys protecting earth as they dont want to be slave again.... They protecting earth by anti anstroid lasor and lasor beam against enemy spaceship.... One of most powerful tall greys defence system is in sibera russia. It gets activated when astroid heading towards earth. Must watch the proof brought by scientists themself....
