Total annual expenses for a developed Pakistan?

Not necessarily. As science and technology is growing at a breath taking speed, I think the vast majority of the world will be fully developed before the 22nd century. In Bar-e-Saghir, this region could develope much earlier than other parts of the under developed regions because of the huge man power and the abundance of natural resources available.

Take for example, the modern day telecommunications sector. With the same inept Governments in power in India and Pakistan, hindreds of millions of people now have mobile phones and the Internet. The Governments are still pathetic as they were 60 years ago, but entrepreneurs, private sector have taken over. And, taken over to the extent that the Governments cannot keep up the pace.

In Pakistan, there was only around 19 Gigawatts of installed electricity and 5 years later it has grown to more than 23 Gigawatts. But there's still and always massive load shedding regardless how much the Government increases the installed capacity. This is due to people getting hold of technology which the Government is not directly providing but people are acquiring it from other means.

Similarly, development will occur and is occurring without the help of the Governmrnts around the world. If anything, most Governments are incompetent rather than helpfull in this effort.

Firstly, don't compare Pakistan to India. Secondly what makes you think any of this technical revolution will boost Pakistan's long term prospects? AFAIK the IMF and WB have both downgraded Pakistan's long-term economic growth significantly. Pakistan has been in the economic hole it is in now for decades and there doesn't seem to be any change for the good happening soon. At this rate it is expected BD will surpass Pakistan's GDP in the next 2 decades. The security situation is a bad as it has ever been, Pakistan is in a precarious position wrt circular debt and all economic and social indicators point to Paksitan going backwards not forewards.

The United States is the biggest economy in the world with a Per Capita of almost $50,000 in 2012.

So, if Pakistan was developed as Riyast-e-Mutahida, then $50,000 for the 183 million Pakistani population would come to $9.15 trillion.

183,000,000.00 x $50,000 = $9,150,000,000,000.00
1-For that, Pakistan's economy will have to grow to the multiple of 45.75 times the current GDP
2-If Pakistan's economy consistently grow by 6% YoY annually, even then it would take 39 years for Pakistan to reach the current size of US economy

Why do we need welfare state any way?

Why not give people work?

What OP has asked can be achieved without paying a single penny tax.... just punish the person who's street is ******, who's kids spread *****. There are many ways.. but what ever you do but please stop listening to Imran Khan's tax crap.. and boycott taxation because the core function of tax is not to develop a country but to create political parties who fight each other for the handsome amount.
