This general is one of about ten people in the USA that thinks the USA should stay in Afghanistan. The public, war veterans, and most politicians think the USA needs to get out. Only experts at think tanks and some generals think the USA needs to stay. There professional creditably is on the line.

The generals need a ground to test in real conditions new weapons, new technologies etc. In Afghanistan they have free hands. Nobody will register an FIR pop for thé killing of «unknown» randomly selected target painted as terrorist.

the iq level of american generals has really gone down the drain in recent years. they just don't realize that they are:
1. are the very reason for the insurgency and
2. they lost and lost MISERABLY the battle for the hearts & minds...
3. they aren't in a position to decide if they can keep troops or not.

let's face it, the afghan taliban have the hearts and minds of the masses on their side.
