To engage with China, India must stop peddling myths about the Line of Actual Control

you are already defeated. your troops have retreated to pre-september 10 status quo, it is only your media under the rule of your leaders who are not making it public for face-saving reasons. your media is publishing bs reports to tell the chinese masses that their leader xi jinping has done some commendable job in india but in reality he has been defeated.

washington post says:

In China, media focused on the personal relationship between the two leaders, and editorials and commentaries emphasized the similarities between the two countries — how they were both ancient civilizations, supported each other in fighting for independence and are in the process of national “rejuvenation,” as Xi put it Wednesday. The Global Times published an editorial saying that India-China cooperation could fundamentally change the world in the face of Western hegemony.

can't believe, in this century, such archaic thinking still exists among some loser jokers. prime minister narendra modi made your leaders shiver

well, there you have it, in future conflicts you can just cannon ball him into Beijing and scare us into retreating.

And India has almost no offensive capability on it's Chinese border, so there is no question of a new Forward Policy.

Nehru also committed to the Forward Policy, even while he lacked the capability to follow through with it.

We would be foolish to drop our guard in any sense. Just like in the Cold War, if any of the other world powers sense weakness on China's part, we are in trouble.

Many of the reports coming out of India are suggesting that it was in fact the Modi administration who sparked the latest border tension. It's easy to play with fire if you think you can't get burned.

Europa is our Beidou2020

What you mean a false-flagger? That was pretty obvious though, he's not even trying.

As I was saying, Nehru was somewhat deranged.

And which reports? Link please.

Beidou is a false flagger? I was meaning, a hawkish to the point of a wild rage.

Check the various threads started by Europa for examples.

I don't know about Nehru being deranged though. When someone sees a rival collapsing from famine, it's human nature to wonder what benefit they can get out of it, and Nehru surely did not miss the chance. Luckily for us, he failed.

Beidou is a false flagger? I was meaning, a hawkish to the point of a wild rage.

Beidou2020 admitted himself a while back that he was not Chinese.

He claims to be a "white American", but given his posts he seems like he is from South Asia.

we need Russia to defeat you? Should we also call Russia for Philippines too?
So who stopping you, come and attack.. This time be man enough not to run back to your holes..

The line is what it is today, maybe we wil advance abit here and there, but hte over all effect will be minimal.

Getting AP? To what end? We already have enough trouble developing Tibet, we are not getting that burden, India knows how difficult to build there.

Besides, it's 2014, who wants more territory anymore.

Then why do you act stupid, every now and then, by crossing into other country's land/maritime territories. Be mindful, India is not like countries in South China sea that you can come and bully so easily.

We don't want war but if attacked will not let go off enemy easily..

In my view the first step to solve the problem is
indian should' do constitutional amendment. make territory exchange or cede legally possible
after then , territory talk make sense.

There are some good example how China solve territory problem.
Such like
China with tajikstan in 2011
BBC News - Tajikistan cedes land to China

Or china russia in2008
Bolshoi Ussuriysky IslandHeixiazi Island

I'm not inclined to believe that it is the Modi government's doing (even with reports of far more patrolling), these incidents happened all the time even when the previous government was there. In any case, I'm not one of those who unnecessarily criticise China blindly. China must/will do what it thinks is right for China (however much we in India hope for a better understanding ), India must do what is right for her. I criticise those in India who remain woolly headed about India's relationship with China. You are right about the fact that China is in an extremely strong position but we cannot allow ourselves to happily accept a position of subservience. We must do what is in our national interest & towards that purpose, I'm reasonably content with the events of the last few days. Hopefully, less people continue to have blinkers on with respect to China. China will always be a very important country in so many ways for India but a friend it is not. Nor do I foresee any change in that position in the near future. In the meantime, we must build closer relations with real friends/partners/ interested parties & deal constructively with China without any talk of what would clearly be imaginary friendship.

you call tens of millions of dollars of barracks and apartment complexes, holes? Your military must be quite rich then.

First of all, never believe the singular reporting, true we didn't report it, but we report everything from the South China Sea and East China Sea, why not this? It's not like this is any different thant that.

Have you considered maybe it really isn't much of anything, the news says 1000 soldiers, but looking at numerous reports, I'm seeing that it's the civilians that are involved. But they try to make it as if China is invading with a regiment.

Is this the only "error" in the report? Can you be sure?

I also have a question, usually Chinese borders have a river, or at least a stone sign that says this is China or something. Is there one on this border? If not how the hell are anybody suppose to know where is where, even Beidou can only do so much.

I don't care about these media reports because I know now any misadventure at border will be adequately answered. I ignore such threads and even asked Europa to stop opening threads on the same topic everyday. But then look at your arrogance, you think you guys can attack India and defeat it when ever you want.. Come on stop fooling yourselves and others,It's not kids play to attack a country of India's size and go back without any consequences..

there were some chinese who thought narendra modi would be taken for granted, lol, they had no idea what was coming to them :D still, you have chance to vacate entire aksai chin peacefully because you have no idea who you are dealing with, you don't know narendra modi and rss.

Under Sangh pressure, Modi takes hard line on incursions - The Hindu

lets not get confused and deluded.

(Reuters) - India said on Tuesday it would firmly defend its 3,500-km- (2,200-mile-) long border with China after domestic media reported a new face-off on the disputed frontier, just days ahead of a visit by President Xi Jinping.

while 3,500-km means aksai chin as part of india, 'firmly defend' means firmly no matter if it is war or peace. but indian government expects china to follow peace and peacefully vacate aksai chin so that war does not take place. this is a diplomatic language and diplomats understand it well. india has mentioned the length of the border means india will never accept status quo bs and will not compromise aksai chin.

china says the border length is only 2000-km as china considers aksai chin as part of china.

interestingly, the former indian government claimed the border to be 3,488-km long whereas the present indian government claims it is 3,500-km long and that means more lands claimed if one goes technically.

this is why india is building posts right inside aksai china which is an indian land as per indian government. not a single inch will be compromised.

now see this:

Indian officials on Sunday were dismissive of Chinese claims that their position on the length of the disputed border with India – which China has recently described as 2,000 km and not 3,488 km as India does – remained consistent and unchanged.

Chinese analysts on Sunday refuted media reports which said China had recently disregarded a 1,500 km stretch of the border, between Jammu and Kashmir in India and Xinjiang and Tibet in China, in its references of the disputed border, suggesting new Chinese claims over Kashmir.

Officials dismiss China's Kashmir border claims - The Hindu

any indian talking about giving aksai chin to china will face charges of treason for not acknowledging india's territorial integrity.

I don't want to get into this with you, since this seems like a reasonable comment, I can also see where you are coming from.

But it's not arrogance, well a little, 8-), but the thing to remember is, just like America can defeat Chinese navy at any point despite our advances, so too can we do the same to India.

It's not a slant on you, it's just we are better equipped and trained than you are.

Now you might think trained is wrong, I'm not saying what you are doing is wrong or your guys are not giving 100%, what I am saying is the realities are there.

India doesn't have the capabilities of China to train, it costs tons of money and you can't train with equippments you don't have.

A obscure fact you may not know, countries like ours, China and India, at early stages the expensive weapons are more or less for show like the Apache, can your commander of the unit really afford to risk his prize possessions? Especially India's media, it will destroy his career.

When we just imported the Su-27, our commander of the division was scared to fly them in combat situations training because he feared of losing it, that was super expensive and our only regiment.

But now that we got hundreds and more coming, we fly them in all kinds of crazy situations.

Remember how much scrutiny your commanders face when it was only a Mig 21, these things have effects on effectiveness.

is that so?? than why don't you guys take lead and use force to settle the dispute. You might have your own opinion about Indian army but ask jinping he would disagree.

Just because we can, doesn't mean we will. Do you also doubt our ability to win against Vietnam? Yet we made no moves. They don't have a defence treaty with US, if you must go that route.

I understand the skepticism, and the pride really. You feel India has made advances and it should be behind in fact it could be ahead in a few fields.

Well that's how we feel with the US, but facts remain facts.

Just look at what India is doing and what China is doing, India is still testing and tendering artillery, tanks, normal rifles, and things of that nature.

But if you feel India can defeat China, then I have really nothing to say, other than if nothing else is an indicator of military might, would spending be it? The more you spend the more you can do that's not me talking, that's the money talking.

My non existent ulcer acts up every time there's a discussion about China and especially if it's with a Chinese.
then in the future just have discussions with countries and people you have an advantage over, Africa seems a good starting point, but avoid Botswana.
