TLP protests: Over 5,000 booked in govt crackdown a day after deal

Let's see if PTI gov learnt any lessons from this.

Withdrawing police from those damaging property is one thing but who the heck was recording all the evidence? Was there anyone tasked to record the crimes?

IK as an Interior Minister needs to be smarter at performing on this portfolio he's holding.

And CJP needs to hold his horses when it comes to transfers of IGs etc. That Isloo IG did a runner as soon as protests started. Avoid humiliation like this CJP. You are doing excellent work but let the government do what it needs to do to fix the system.

Good Post. I do agree with you that the final arbiter of justice are the courts. Here are some excerpts from the agreement:

He said according to the legal procedure, Aasia Bibi’s name could only be placed on the ECL on the court orders, and the Interior ministry could not take any decision on its own.

He said it was agreed that those detained in the police stations would be released immediately, but those sent to jails after registration of FIRs would only be set free on the orders of the court.

It seems that TLP got outsmarted by the PTI led government.
Fantastic stuff. Do you have a English translated copy of the agreement please?

not the right thread to post this vid but still related to this case.

Yeah give public another false face of the govt that court took the decision because PTI said so.

What we need in such cases presence of mufti Islamic Scholar to be part of such judgement so that it doesn't create any doubt in public mind at all. Remember this is Islamic Country and these cases are soo sensitive and we all see how people blame court, army, govt that they do what Western says. We have to protect riots and economy of Pakistan and at the same time sentiments of our people.

Thats the part most liberal and countries elite dont want. They think they know islam more than ppl Who have studied their whole life. Its like a butcher acting as a sergeon, totally unacceptable to any religious person. Every body has their own field, judges in supreme court are not expert on the field of islamic law , periode!

. . .
Even Pakistani elites walk over Muslims, it seems.
No offence.
Its unfortunely the reality, Pakistan is nothing more then cesspool it is because of currupt seculer elite which let's always its own ppl down because they have to please their overlord in the west and to saven their filthy nightparties.

.
This is now about destruction of property of the poor, whatever they had in the first place. These kind of people respond only to pressure. Either in the form of a big stick or even more so a prospect of a heavy fine.

Just follow the money here. This whole thing was pre-planned big time!!

All of this could have been easily avoided.

They made this law for a purpose. Not much better than stuff that happens here in India.

So tell me who in your estimation is the final arbiter in Islam? You?

A qazi, mufti ,ppl with knowledge of religious law in these kinda sensitive issues and not fawad chaudary, imran khan, army chief or these moochar judges who are not expert in islamic jurisprudence! its simple really , If you call yourself islamic republic why cant you have judges who also whave deep knowledge of this religioun or atleast religious aids in the court to help the judges.

Btw i am not saying make pen Di siri judge but at lease these ppl could have asked a panel of Gov appointed muftis for a way out!

Fantastic point. I honestly think Pakistan needs to chop down some expenditure on the military. Prime for that is the navy. Scrap a few ships and the $100s millions saved plough it into police.
Another 'gem' from the backside of a PTTC :hitwall::hitwall:

It's heartening to see that people are using social media to expose the culprits.

I agree with you partly.. Sadly, in Pakistan, credibility of those charged with the religious obligations has gone down.

Moreover, our religious scholars have not contributed in any field other than hurling abuses on other sects..

A shia scholar is not a scholar until he sends tabarra on the companions of prophet (PBUH), a barelvi scholar is not satisfied until his followers do not disrespect deobandis, a deobandi scholar either keeps mum on TTP but criticizes other armed wings of other sects.. and a tawheedi thinks that everyone other than him is a mushrik..

There are thousands of books written against each other.. Just go to any madarssa and you will get these books in plenty..

When it comes to a poor lady, who has been released by the highest court on the basis of contradictory statements and unreliable witnesses, they all support each other..

When it comes to the polio eradication, they all become one to condemn the polio workers..

Do you think as a Muslim I can trust any of them?

Fantastic point. I honestly think Pakistan needs to chop down some expenditure on the military. Prime for that is the navy. Scrap a few ships and the $100s millions saved plough it into police. Armoured police vehicles, 10,000s of riot gear, advanced training in riot control, few police helicopters with latest electronic devices with cameras etc. Then deploy these professional forces when such events unfold.

Pakistani citizens face far greater threats in their towns then they do in high seas. Pakistan needs dedicated Turkish style Jandarma force. In a country of 70 million [three times smaller then Pak] it has -

Active
  • 1839 (Official claim)
  • June 10, 1930 (as Gendarmerie Organisation)
  • 1956 (as Gendarmerie General Command)[1]
Country
23px-Flag_of_Turkey.svg.png
Turkey
Type Gendarmerie
Role Paramilitary law enforcement, counter insurgency, armed response to civil unrest, counter terrorism, special weapons operations.

Size 276,320 sworn members[2]
1,475 Armored and utility vehicles
59 Helicopters

Part of Ministry of the Interior (in peacetime)
Turkish Armed Forces (in wartime)
Headquarters Ankara

Gendarmerie is paramilitary wing and what I advocate is a reserve Gendarmerie. There are so many unemployed young men out there and they can be brought into employment by having reservist like Territorial army in UK who train on weekly/monthly basis. They can also learn other skills via this program which can broaden their career horizon.

Active personal will always create a nightmare because the cost goes through the roof and at one time you will not be needing all personal. But when you need the extra bodies you simply tap into the auxiliary that is always on standby. To wait for new recruit you have to hold selection then putting them through training will take almost a year.

So many problems can be solved by having reserve paramilitary, from Borders security, Domestic security, Natural disaster management and even during the time of war they can fight along active military.

The number in my eyes will have to be 500K - 1 Million (or more), because we have to consider the population bomb that has gone off.
