We know the ISI is paying you to promote the lion. Yahoodi/RAW tiger will win. The CIA will sabotage the lion and shave its mane.

By that definition the Amur Tiger is almost extinct. The Tigers of the Sundabans are almost there as well. The Javanese Tiger is confined to just myths.

Lions of Gir are making a comeback reclaiming territory and flourishing while plans to reintroduce the Barbary Lion is afoot.

Actually i am more interested in Project Tiger than Project Lion but I have my biases.

I will respond to any fact presented to me by calling it #FakeNews.

Tiger Zinda Hai.

love jihad

Love djihad?

A tiger should force itself unto an unsuspecting
zebra mare ( and probably say he's colour blind
and was misled by the stripes in court later )???

Man, you cook up nasty plans!

Lion - hands down.

A black bear was able to fight a Tiger to a stalemate while protecting her cub (documented event). Try this with a Lion and see what happens.

male lions don't normally hunt. they sometimes get involved to take down really large buffalos. They are specifically built to fight. Their entire existence is protecting their pride and cubs from other males who want to invade and take over.

just look at the way hyena (an apex predator themselves) are absolutely terrified of the male lion. while the male lion will fearlessly confront any hyena regardless of how badly outnumbered he is. (hyenas do not remotely fear the females as much). a male lion will attack a hyena with the intention to purely kill, as that's whats its designed for. and the hyenas knowit.

tigers are solitary hunters. by nature they will avoid any battle that's even remotely even. If a tiger even sustains a minor injury it will be a death sentence as it can no longer hunt. that's why by its nature, its in a tigers interest to avoid risky battles.

I will put my money on the THe lion . As its fearless, designed to fight and most male lions are known to fight to the death when cornered. A tiger will most probably be the first to retreat as it has nothing to gain from the fight, and its not biologically designed for it.

Beautifully summarized. Agreed.

Tiger

He's bigger and more aggressive. He also hunts solo, which the lion would rarely do.

Can a lion do this?

However, if the tiger faced a pride of lions, he'd be screwed.

ever seen a lion kill a elephant alone? I bet it would not even dare to face the elephant.

Eighteen elephants have died in Kerala’s Wayanad wildlife sanctuary over the past four months, including at least six in tiger attacks that officials say could have been triggered by bitter turf wars over scarce water.

Officials say large-scale migration of animals from nearby Bandipur and Mudumali wildlife parks to the Wayanad sanctuary in search of water amid a debilitating drought have probably brought things to a head.

While six elephants were killed by tigers, two tuskers died fighting each other.

Tiger attacks on elephants are rare because the latter move in large herds.

A Lion fights to death. A Tiger flees once faced with equal foe

And where is the evidence?

No animal can take on a fully grown elephant solo and prevail. Lions do take their chances against elephants in the wild at times. I recall a Lion pride which specialized in killing elephants: http://www.itravelto.com/elephant-killers-botswana.html

You have no idea how strong a healthy male lion is.

I'm not a zoologist or specialist in either animal, so I can't answer with any validity.

I will say that I think both are incredibly beautiful majestic creatures.
