Three ULFA militants killed in Assam

GUWAHATI: Three ULFA militants were killed in an encounter with the police in Guwahati early Tuesday.

The militants hurled two grenades at the police in Hatingiri under Maligaon police station at around 1 am, officials said.

The police retaliated and the three were killed on the spot, they said, adding an M-20 pistol, a live grenade and some explosives were recovered from them.

Two live bombs were found during the raids conducted by the police in the nearby Adabari area soon after the encounter, they said.
