GHOTKI: Thousands of wheat sacks, dumped at a Dherki Railway Station, have gone rotten upon being exposed to open air and rainwater, Geo News reported Monday.

Sindh Food and Agriculture Ministry sources termed the ******* of tonnes of wheat being the alleged negligence and corruption rendered by ministry officials.

This wheat also included those 12000 sacks, which were imported last year due to food crisis, sources said adding that as many as 25000 locally grown wheat sacks, have also turned a huge heap of husk and rotten ****, sources said.

Food ministry sources said massive quantity of dearly wheat costing Rs.90 millions have turned into a complete litter.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,00,000 sacks of wheat, purchased last year by food ministry, have yet to be sold out due to conflicts on commission, however, sacks are safe and sound with floor mills owners, sources said further.

huh...what a waste--India also wastes lots of agriculture produce annually--not at the quantity u wasted above--but gigantic portions--even grains rot due to rodents

Loss of food grains is not just a waste of food & resources.

It is a crime against the nation at par with treason. Those responsible must be hung .

what a reason of waste, those thousand sacks must have been filling the stomack of thousands of houses for months....

i couldn't agree more!!!! btw if you click the link you will see how pathetic was the storage facility! :hitwall:

hahaha..i thought this was about india...

Who are these incompetent bunch running the gov..waste of rizq. Allah warned us last year with a demo of food crisis yet we fail to take action.

Now lets hope what gone is gone but that rotten wheat will simply not be dumped into sea..we can use it for making fuel..bio ethanol ;)

This is ridiculous. They should have just given it for free to poor people if they could not store it properly.

Another similarity between India and Pakistan.

This is same in India because of that about 30% of wheat, rice, fruits and vegetables go waste.

This can only be changed by giving severe and exemplary punishment.

the biggest diffrence between india and pakistan is YOU have mr.10% who are only 10% corrupt while 90% they invest for the good of the nation!!

FOR US we have mr.90% WHO are completely corrupted and like termites eat away at the foundations of our nation!!! :hitwall:

corruption can never end in our countries completely but we will be lucky if we can bring it down!

Friend,

Sorry to disappoint you but we have more corruption our politicians and bureaucrats are the most corrupt in the world. Year after year they don't spend allotted budget and if they spent it they eat it up.

Rajiv Gandhi when he was Prime Minister of India 20 year ago have said that that if govt. of India release 100 rupees for public it get eaten by corruption and only 15 rupees reaches to the public.

So they are 85% corrupt? could have said it simpler. :D :D :D

this can't be the case bro! i read an article of TOI a while back (which i believe exaggerates everything) saying that till 1991 pakistan was far far ahead of india in everything except corruption! then it went on to say how manmohan came along and made an economic turn around!

anyways the point is we are more corrupt we have all the resources in the world and yet not a single leader in sight you guys are lucky you have better less corrupt leader.

us on the other hand have no choice except the sharifs, bhuttos, chuadrys & altafs ! :hitwall:

our country has a president that is world famous as MR.10% beat that

Negligence yes, but how corruption might have played role in here?

India and I assume pak too lacks proper storage facilities for argri products. In india, agri products are wasted in the order of 25% of annual production, which is huge and a crime. We shud allow and encourage private players to construct and manage these supply chain problems... ironically its the govt policies that encourage hoarding and price manipulation....:(
