I see it slightly differently.

I think this event (the raid by ISI and apprehension of CIA agents) has taken place but it happened few weeks, even few months, ago (and not in the recent past).

ISI has done the debriefing already and has taken all the the information that was possible to be taken out. Now ISI is dangling these folks in the front of the world as bargaining chips to get more out their handlers / countries of origin - it is simply squeezing the last drop of milk from the cow.

I wish decisions were taken in national interest mate. I'm not advocating an all-out suicidal run. But bending away at every turn is what we are good at. And those who know victory and defeat rests with the will of Allah and not the size of your army, they don't bend but make a stand. Bravery is not only in the field, its part of your strategic policy and national interests.

When was the last time you saw our Establishment making a stand, except the nuke thing and until very recently when Gen. Raheel brought some changes.

We've always been a slave to the establishments in Washington and London and we have always taken and followed dictation from there.

And by national interest I mean, safety and well being of every single citizen of yours. If the state is not able to provide that, and the safety is only for a chosen few who roam around in Bullet and bomb proof vehicles then what and whose interest? What does an average Pakistani who you cant provide food, health, or protection to has to do with ANA or spywarfare?
You don't see American citizens dying hungry and not having access to proper education and health services or anything else the state is responsible for, just because they are fighting a spy war with you in Afghanistan? But we go all la la la for some ANA kid getting blown up while our own people still don't have anything we were supposed to provide them.


We are the same people who gave away Kargil just because of international pressure.
