This eid we decided to buy only one dress each and spared money we gave to one needy family living in same town.

Head of the family is only one how earn but have some problem with his legs. They suffering a lot so we gave them little money ... he opened a grocery shop and very happy.

I am not posting to promote we are very good but to encourage others to do the same..

Our one act can change someone's life...

There's nothing wrong with posting individual acts of kindness and charity. The companions(ra) and family(as) of the Prophet(saws) used to outdo each other in good deeds and these were known and told to the entire Muslim community.

Here is one such example;

‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “One day, the Messenger of Allah, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, commanded us to give charity. At that time I had some property, so I said, ‘Today I shall surpass Abu Bakr if I surpass him any day.’ I, therefore, brought half of my property. The Messenger of Allah, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, asked, ‘What have you left for your family?’ I replied, ‘The same amount.’ Abu Bakr brought all that he had with him. The Messenger of Allah asked him, ‘What have you left for your family?’ He replied, ‘I have left Allah and His Messenger for them.’ I said, ‘I shall never compete with him in anything.’“ [Reported by Abu Dawud 1678 and at-Tirmidhi 3675. Al-Albani considered it good.]

Allah bless your act of charity and may the Lord increase your wealth many times over.

In these difficult economic times we should all care a little extra and some more for our less affluent brethren, specially the yateem.

In fact, you have inspired me to share a hadith about a simple act of everyday kindness and charity... Even for people who themselves cannot afford to help others...Just a kind, merciful pat on the head of a yateem kid by a merciful hand earns the person as many deeds of kindness as the number of hair touched on the head of that yateem kid. We can only Imagine the manifold reward of actually helping the deserving, the needy and the poor.
