The think-tank, aided by a dedicated web-portal, was created as a follow-up on recommendations of the subject-experts and young participants of COMSATS-COMSTECH National Meeting on Challenges for Socio-economic Development in Pakistan: Role of Science and Technology, held in October.
Young Pakistani Thinkers is aimed at creating an intellectual movement through social networking for securing the destiny of Pakistan as a modern, progressive and prosperous State.

Currently, the portal hosts forums on eight fields of national importance including education; health; icts; economy; s&t issues; agriculture; environment; and energy.
