Think-tank, web-portal launched
Published: November 30, 2010
ISLAMABAD - A think-tank of young researchers, scholars and thinkers from all over the country and highly renowned experts of Pakistan, “Young Pakistani Thinkers”, was launched here on Monday at COMSATS.

The think-tank, aided by a dedicated web-portal, was created as a follow-up on recommendations of the subject-experts and young participants of COMSATS-COMSTECH National Meeting on “Challenges for Socio-economic Development in Pakistan: Role of Science and Technology”, held in October.

“Young Pakistani Thinkers” is aimed at creating an intellectual movement through social networking for securing the destiny of Pakistan as a modern, progressive and prosperous State.

The web-portal (youngpakistanithinkers.org) would be used by the think tank for scholastic interactions to deliberate on socio-economic challenges of Pakistan, advocate the role of science and technology for national policy-making, apart from highlighting the basic social, ethical and motivational aspects of national interest.

The participants and experts that attended the 2009 Meeting comprise the core group of the web-portal, while more young scholars, researchers and students from the relevant fields are encouraged to join the web-portal. Currently, the portal hosts forums on eight fields of national importance including education; health; icts; economy; s&t issues; agriculture; environment; and energy.
