We call it ÖSS "University Entrance Exam" , it's not that hard. ÖSS doesn't compromise high school last grades teachings like "Integral, Derivative".

High School subjects are not very hard. But if you have gone a private school like me. It's hard, our school also had special classes formed by high grade students. I have seen one of my friend, never had to study maths in college. He always said " We have seen this in high school". So it differs.

Just like we have NEET,CAT likewise GAKUO is the Chinese equivalent of national level exam at high school level passing it you can join university.

We have state schools and private schools. State schools are free and you have to pay for getting education in private schools.

Education board is a body for standardization in school syllabus and they conduct common exam for 10th year(matriculation) and 12th year(intermediate) of the schooling. In India there are two main education boards at Federal level called CBSE and CISCE while all states have their own Education board. Every school either government or private has to be affiliated either with one the federal education boards or the education board of native state and follow their syllabus for school education.
