Solomon2 note: there are additional tables updated through 8/24 that cannot be reproduced here as the I can't get PDF's "Table" function to work. See these at the original New America Foundation site: link

Drone strikes have killed many top commanders of AL-qaeda, The message from drones are very clear, We wont allow any safe heavens.

I conclude by saying " Bhale America Bhale"

What about the innocent people died, people whose kids died? by doing this they are creating more monster then reducing it.

I have seen pictures how bomb blast victims has been portrayed as those killed in drone attacks.

Drone are possibly the most effective tool against militant groups. I hope the micro robots replace the human need to gather intel, and stop putting people in harms way.

I always wonder why a drone attack alone creates more terrorists? Where as a IED attack by Taliban doesn't create any terrorists?
Drones will continue to pound safe heavens of terrorists.

the unknowns are classed as terrorists

any male of adult age is considered a terrorist in this drone war.
if thats not enough.

after the strike, when people rush for their families and the rescue workers arrive they have been attacked by follow up strikes.

thats your answer for the causes of fuelling the terrorism

Considering the small number of civilians and "unknowns " killed I find your theory far-fetched. You're going to have to work to convince me that you even believe in it.

Isn't a male above 18 classified a terrorist?

By that definition, the militant killed claim also comes into doubt, when every other 18 year old would be classified a militant without any proof.

Your govt. claims they are militants.

Following sources claims that out of 3004 total deaths 2393 were civilians. References are also posted in the table.
Now you have to dig to see how reliable the sources are. At a guess, the NAF probably uses many of the same sources - but they also bother to correct their tables using follow-up reports that discount Taliban claims.

Gone for a few days due to the Jewish New Year.

PDF members might want to post something like this on Pakistani English-language news sites as the drones issue crops up - or better yet, translate it for the Urdu ones:

"Under U.N. Security Council Resolution 1373 (Chapter VII) Pakistan has the binding sovereign obligation in international law. to eliminate terrorists, terror-training camps, terror havens, and terror financing from its territory. No action to do so - as in North Wazirstan - reduces the affected area of Pakistan from sovereign territory to open battlefield, at least as far as attacks against terrorists are concerned. That's why drone strikes, etc., are neither violations of Pakistan's sovereignty nor in violation of international law (since these strikes occur in self-defense of the U.S. or coalition forces in Afghanistan.)

"Discussing alternatives to the drones is great but there is every statistical indication that the strikes are doing their job, just as Pakistani anger at such strikes directed against the U.S. is misplaced."

So Gen. Musharraf was not allowing drone attacks in his time, it is true & what he had claimed was all true & now it is time for the haters to shut their mouth.

Look at your favorite Zardari & democracy, he had agreed to all the conditions of US which were laid in front of him, made many secret deals with US & it is because of his corrupt & evil deals with them Pakistan today is in hell lot of problems.

Gen. Kayani open your eyes & don’t be deaf but you already know that.

NO! There is no minimum age, infants, children, women, elderly can and are being labelled terrorists!
