A new Slovak and Polish joint industrial concept is born: Scipio. Unveiled for the first time at IDET 2015 in Czech Republic, the Scipio project features a 8x8 armoured modular vehicle, produced by Rosomak, fitted with EVPU's Turra 30 remote controlled turret. This innovative project is now starring at MSPO 2015 exhibition in Kielce, Poland.

Showcased for the first time in Czech Republic in May, the Scipio project had been launched in order to show the ability of both countries to conduct joint industrial projects, and the least we can say is that the result was impressive. Being showcased at MSPO 2015, what was up to now a project could later respond in part to the need expressed by the Polish army. Poland is currently expanding its fleet of armored vehicles, which could reach 900 vehicles in 2019.

Scipio project unify Rosomak's 8x8 armoured vehicle and EVPU's Turra 30 turret. The Rosomak is a 8×8 multi-role military armoured vehicle produced by the Polish company Rosomak, formerly known as Wojskowe Zaklady Mechaniczne S.A. The vehicle is a licensed variant of Patria's Armored Modular Vehicle.

EVPU's Turra 30 turret consists first of a 30 mm main gun. Both Russian 2A42 30 mm gun or American Mk 44 Bushmaster II 30 mm gun, manufactured by Orbital ATK, can be used as main armament. Secondary armament first consists of PKT 7.62 mm or FN Minimi 7.62 mm machine guns. The Turra 30 can also be fitted with Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM), such as the Konkurs and the Spike. The 9M113 Konkurs is a SACLOS wire-guided anti-tank missile developed by Russia's Tula Machinery Design Bureau (Tula KBP). The Spike is an Israeli fourth generation man-portable fire-and-forget anti-tank guided missile and anti-personnel missile with a tandem-charged HEAT warhead, developed and designed by the Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and in service with a number of nations.
The control system features control modes of turret, ballistic computation, system diagnostic and an operator/gunner post. The optoeletronic box is fitted with cooled IR camera, a laser range finder and a TV camera with zoom. The Turra 30 is protected with STANAG 4569/Level 1 level of protection.
