On July 16&17, the Royal International Air Tattoo was held on Fairford (UK).
The Rafale demonstrator, Captain Michael Brocard, won the award for the best presentation on jet!

The Royal International Air Tattoo is the largest military airshow in Europe. It celebrated this year its 40th anniversary.
On this occasion, the Rafale has impressed the audience during its presentation. The jury awarded to Captain Michael Brocard the trophy "best display jet."

We must add this reward to the "Best solo display" and the "Audience Award" obtained during the 2009 exhibition, by Captain Cedric Ruet, the previous Rafale demonstrator and coach for 2011.

I initially read that as 'Rafale won a trophy for being the international air 'Tatoo'' ----------- (see meaning of 'Tatoo' in Urdu/Punjabi) :D

.
I saw the display in person at RIAT. It was impressive the French pilot made some thrilling low level passes.

I am begging to feel sorry for the Rafale it is not getting any deals since the Rafale and the Typhoon came at about the same time while the typhoon showed itself to be better the Rafale was left dragging its feet. But then again the UAE guys were asking for the Rafale but the french guys were so hell bent on selling it to the Emaratis at inflated prices thinking people of the GCC countries they made a deal with a long time ago are the same people now lol.

The French need to make some serious changes to their strategies and stop living in Mirage 2000 days. That is, if they want to win any contracts. Rafale is a fine machine and needs a few tweaks that can easily be done by the French for nothing. Typhoon despite being a pitiful A2G performer and being much more expensive, has made so many sales compared to an omni-role jet that is simply hanging out because of French denial.

The Rafale is cheaper than the EFT.

If a nation can afford it, dedicated platforms out-perform multi-role aircraft. An F-22 and an A-10 is better than 2 Rafales. The Typhoon is mostly air to air, like the F-15 or F-22.

But when multi-role is needed, the Rafale is fine. Still, if I were boss of some Air Force, I'd pick the new F-16's, get AESA upgrades, and get a whole lot more of them than I would if I went with the Rafale.
